EB Repositioning 4/10/2010 Taking the MAGIC out to sea again in April!

You didn't tell them that 40 minutes of doing nothing on a cruise is a WONDERFUL thing!!!

Well, that's what I thought! The only time I had alone on the entire trip (other than those 40 minutes where I was running errands to guest services and whatnot) was when I woke up one morning at 2am. I wandered the boat for 4 hours, there was nobody around, and I thought it was great (and I got lots of good pictures of the boat looking completely empty!). I couldn't figure out why 40 minutes was a big deal, they even had their cameras. Oh, well. Maybe during this cruise I'll build in "on their own time" here and there, so they can discover the fun and excitement of exploring the ship without a plan or destination. Maybe someone here on the board will help me come up with an alibi, needing me to be away for an hour. That, or wake them all up at 2am and send them out on their own!

I had the same experience the last time we cruised...with my folks, Kel's dad, her neice, and our DD....I was the "vacation director." I like to plan, it makes my anticipation of the trip better...but I did NOT like all the responsibilty that came with it. I musta answered the same question by 4 different people a hundred times, again, and again, and again....I finally got to the point were we held mini meetings thoughout the day, so I would only have to explain things once...I still ended up having to do it again, but not as much. I had maybe and hour to myself the whole trip...

The ship was easier then WDW tho....by alot.

I love my folks......but, a 14 Day Trans? I don't know, that would be crazy...they would definitely be taking responsibilty for themselves.

This time it will be just the 3 of us.

We are there 12/23-12/26/08 leaving on the Magic 12/27 for the NYE cruise We are having a family Xmas with 18 people so a bit hard to meet anyone on this trip, but maybe @ Dland in the future as we are in No. Ca and visit Dland a couple times a year.

We'll be in WDW from Dec 10 to the 19th. Were staying half at Saratoga Springs and the other half at Old Key West. It we be great to meet other cruiser before we sail. We have to DD's 12 and 9months.

I have been trying to find out when my kids will have spring break in 2010 and it looks like it will most likely not be duing this cruise. I e-mailed the school board and it will probably be the week before the cruise.

DH changed our res to the WB in Sept. You all are a wonderful group and it would have been fun sailing with you. But if the kids are going to miss 2 weeks of school than Sept is better for us than April. I hope you all have a wonderful cruise!!

Wouldn't that be wonderful. I wondered if they would upgrade people if they booked or were linked with more than 1 cabin, I guess they do. Both my family and my mom have the Secret Porthole rooms on Deck 5. I agree with Alex that I just like to be able to look out a window, we were rarely in our room.

Does anyone have an idea of what a "full" ship looks like on these Transatlantic cruises. I read somewhere on DIS ... because of the long time at sea and away for restocking, the ship can only hold so much supplies and they cannot sail will all the cabins full.

I dont think they'll have a problem stocking the ship! Cruise ships usually pick up supplies while they dock in each port- so it's only a matter of a few days to get from one port to the next.

My proud mama moment...Wilson took 1st place at his go kart race on Saturday, with this win he moved from 3rd to 2nd place in the overall standings. We are very proud of his hard work this season

Hello! We just booked this cruise, as well. I was thinking we would be near the beginning of this thread, but I feel like I'm joining late! Oh, well. It'll be us and the in-laws, with connecting rooms. We'll see how well that works out, or if I need to make friends with someone on another deck. There will be me (Staci, 32), DH Rory (34), Anna (5, almost 6), and Rory's parents Rory and Jay (no ages offered, for fear of bad things in those connecting rooms!!). We are very much looking forward to this, although DH is horrified that a) I'm already doing my research, and b) I'm obviously not the only one who immediately went to the DIS board! He says he doesn't like my planning, but I left him and his parents alone for 40 minutes on our cruise last week, and they all informed me they were incapable of amusing themselves for that long, that I was the leader and in charge of the schedule. 40 minutes, in the period of a 7 day cruise, and they were left with no idea what to do. And this was on Halloween, when they could just wander the boat and see the great decorations! I still don't know what they did, I found them 30 minutes later in the same spot I left them. LOL.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a year and a half of getting to know everyone! I see that I won't be allowed any sick days from the board, or it'll take me days to catch up, so I'll be reading daily.

Actually, we're planning to be there April 26-May 6 at POFQ. I can't wait!! This year was the first one since 2002 when we didn't get to do a WDW vacation, since we spent two weeks on the PC cruise. I'm missing my WDW fix!


The bad news here- I borderline failed the gestational diabetes test. So I'm waiting to get the paperwork for meeting with the diabetic counselor and finding out what I need to do dietwise. This is the hardest type of diet for me to handle, since I normally eat a lot of carbs (bread, pasta, juice). I'm working from home today and can't even THINK of what I should eat!

Just wanted to check in. Sorry I have be AWOL for the past week, but I have had another job pursuing me. They wanted me to turn down another job I had just accepted and take thier position. Now a week of so later and MULTIPLE counter-offers between employers, I will be starting with the State's Lottery on Monday. Good news - more money for the EB cruise, Bad news - can't buy anymore lottery tickets (or is that good news as I won't be wasting my money )

As for Dec - I am scheduled to be there late Thus Dec 4th thru Sunday, Dec
7th, but I haven't asked the new job if I could take off Friday yet. If they don't let me - are you interested in 3 MVMCP tickets?

One of my good friends struggles with diabetes and it's why I'm starting a weight loss regimen because I could possibly be suseptible in the future and I don't want to put myself there...

Hi everyone!

We just booked this cruise. It will be me (Joann), DH, DD8, DD6, &DD3. We will be moving to a new job in Kampala, Uganda next summer, so I hope my new boss won't veto the vacation plans. But the girls' school has a two-week spring break, so I can add this two-week cruise and make decent use of our one-round-trip to and from the U.S.

I look forward to meeting everyone.
