Eating at Boma's

We tried Boma for breakfast and dinner a couple days ago.

All I can say is AMAZING!!

The chefs were so friendly and humorous, making comments and recommendations to all the diners.

I had 2 bowls of the Chicken Corn Chowder because it was soo yummy! :earboy2: The hummus and flat bread were really great too, as well as the Zebra Domes-- all of the desserts for that matter... the watermelon rind and salad dressings were really interesting. The salmon was wonderful too, and I don't even really like salmon :rotfl: I am not the most adventurous eater, but it seems I sampled just about everything-- nothing was bad! My DM was actuallying "mmmm"ing while eating the seafood soup! She said she felt like Samantha Brown!! :p Our server was kind and it was great having a table next to the window. As you can see, I cannot say enough good things about Boma! :cloud9: There are so many exotic and unique flavors in the chefs' foods and it really is a dining experience everyone should have once. This restaurant is a new must-do for all our trips and I realize now that it deserves all the great reviews I saw before I dined there!

Enjoy.

I guess since we are staying at the AKL, we would be crazy not to try Boma's at least once, right? ;)

If one had to choose between breakfast or dinner, which would it be and why?

DINNER... definitely.

It is a more unique dining experience than breakfast because it features food items you could not find at many other restaurants in the U.S. The breakfast is great too, but includes more typical morning food items, such as pastries, cereal, eggs, etc...

Have fun at the Lodge-- we had a great stay there ::MickeyMo

We loved Boma for breakfast , but were beyond disappointed at dinner. I have food allergies and could eat almost nothing on the buffet but the pap. Our server pretty much disappeared, and reappeared after DH and DS were done eating to offer me a chicken breast from the grill. It seems that the chef KNEW I was unable to eat almost everything on the buffet, perhaps he should have offered it to begin with. :( I refused because by this time I wasn't going to keep Dh and DS waiting--they were done with their dinner and dessert.

Also there wasn't a single dessert item I could eat, and there was no alternative. I've always been offered fresh fruit, this wasn't even offered.

All in all I spent a lot of money for a glass of water and a plate of pap.

On the otherhand, breakfast there was very good and they bent over backwards to accomodate my allergies!
