I have to go into work later today so we had our big meal at lunch time. We had puffy pancakes with sausage and sauteed apples.
I chose Baked pizza pasta (one pepperoni and cheese one olive, mushroom, and cheese) w/garlic bread.
Hope they like it. It's a favorite in this house.
I found this recipe earlier in the thread...
Beef bake
1lb stew beef cut into cubes
one can mushroom gravy
One can water
12oz tomato juice
One package onion soup mix
Potatos peeled and cut in half
Carrots cut into big pieces
Brown beef in oil add salt and pepper to taste drain and set aside
In a sauce pan mix juice, water, gravy, and onion soup mix bring to a boil and simmer 5 mins add beef take off heat
Spray a 13 by 9 baking dish with non stick spray place potatoes to cover the pan add carrots pour beef mixture on top cover with tin foil and bake for two ours in a 350 oven
Do you think I could omit the tomato juice? I REALLY don't like it.
Wonder if it would stil be good without it?![]()
I will update about my week later but I thought in case you haven't seen it yet I know a lot of you follow her blog did you guys see that the pioneer woman will have her own show on the food network starting next Saturday at 11:30am![]()
I made pizzas tonight instead of ordering out. I bought whole wheat yeast dough from Wal-Mart (.98) and made 4 pizzas; spinach alfredo, cheese, pepperoni and ham, and a blueberry dessert pizza. We have so much left over! Everyone was happy and looking forward to a repeat.![]()
I have not had fast food in over a year till last week when I had 2 jack in the box tacos, aaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww they were so good!! And only a $1.00 for 2!!
Could you share your recipe for the baked pizza pasta? In our house we love anything with pizza or pasta, so together they sound great!
Sure though I have to admit I sorta just make it to taste.
I use around 16oz. (about half of the 32 oz. box) of elbow macoroni but whatever your favorite pasta is would work.
One jar of marinara sauce (sometimes I use homemade sauce if I have time)
Around 12 oz shredded cheese (I prefer sharp cheddar but I have used mozzerella too)
2 cloves chopped garlic
1 pkg. peperoni slices
optional can of olives and/or can of mushrooms.
Mix pasta, marinara and garlic. Spread a thin layer of pasta mixture on the bottom of a 9X13 baking pan. Place pepperoni side by side in a single layer over pasta. Place a thin layer of mushrooms, olives or both over pepperoni, layer with another sprinkling of cheese and repeat process until all pasta cheese and toppings are layered into pan. Bake at 350 until bubbly.approx. 30min.
My kids love it and I often make it when Im baby siitting as it's sort of a mix of spagetti, mac and cheese and pizza. The perfect mix of flavors for kids. I've added fresh herbs, marinated artichoke hearts and a bunch of other stuff when making it for just adults but I always come back to this simple version for the kids.
