Eat at home

Tonight we are having scrambled cheesy eggs, bacon, orange glazed sweet rolls, and red seedless grapes. I'm going to steam and puree a some cauliflower to add to the eggs and cheese. Shhhh. Adding a little boost of veggies.

I made some chocolate chip cookie bread (dazzling name to get the kids attention). My secret ingredient is dried apricots that I cut in small pieces and used a blender in the batter. Can't tell it's in there. I used cinnamon applesauce instead of oil too. Boost of fruit.

My kids eat some veggies, but shy away from a lot. I buy them and they turn their nose up at them. Then I'm stuck with all these fruits and veggies. The dried apricots they liked for all of 1 minute. I think it was the texture. But they make the bread really moist and are undetectable.

I'll keep trying the whole foods but I don't want them to go to waste either!

I just wanted to say hi before reading the whole thing, but I have half way been doing this for awhile and am glad to see others out here that can help plan and encourage....

Will post again after I read some.

Welcome aboard!!

Tonight we are having puffy pancakes with sausage and fruit. I am fighting a cold and want something simple for dinner.

The family had leftover chili tonight. I'm doing a reboot so had some steamed broccoli and cauliflower and a bunch of vegetable juice straight out of my juicer appliance.

Tonight we had a beef loi of some sort really yummy with rice and carrots
Tomorrow I am feeling in a southern mood I am making Mac and cheese with green beans and corn bread also for dessert strawberry shortcake

We were supposed to go to a Chili Supper tonight at DD12's school, but it has been postponed "due to unforseen circumstances". :confused3 Soooo....we will have the leftover Chili from trunk or treat on Sunday. I pulled it out of the freezer this morning.

Dinner tonight:
Chili
Cornbread

tonight it's Chicken, Bacon Ranch Subs & Fries!

I switched some things and added a few new ones once I actually went to the grocery store. We had the tacos and omelets I planned on and last night was polish sausage with sauteed onions and french fries (sweet potato and regular). DD's and I had fried eggs over polenta cakes and stole a few fries from the boys. Tonight is supposed to be homemade pizza but I feel pretty crappy so we'll see if I get that done. May teach DD's to do it while I sit on a chair in the kitchen.
The rest of my plans are:
Vegetarian Chili and cornbread

Veggie Lasagna

Shepard's Pie (both meat and non meat kind)

Sausage, with sauteed potato's, onions, mushrooms DD's and I will have the same thing with eggs over potato mixture and no sausage

Meatball subs/ tuna cake (or tuna salad) sandwiches with veggies

Breakfast for dinner Homemade hash browns, scrambled eggs and Blueberry
muffins with Sausage for the boys.

If we have leftover chili I'll use it for chili cheese baked fries served with veggies.

Spicy Mac and Cheese from scratch

My mom bought a new cookbook that I borrowed, and I got almost 2 full weeks worth of new recipes from it!! Here's what I have planned:

*Jambalaya with sausage, chicken, and shrimp (crockpot), salad
*Sloppy Joe Supper(crockpot). It has shredded hashbrown potatoes in it so it sounds pretty intersting. Veggie of some sort.
*Nacho cheese beef casserole
*Bavarian Meatball subs (crockpot)
*Seafood bisque, salad
*Crockpot enchiladas, spanish rice
*bratwurst (crockpot), sweet potato fries
*Almond Chicken, veggies, crescent rolls
*Chili cheese dog casserole, green beans
*Meatloaf burgers (crockpot), parmasean fries
*Brat and Tot casserole (bratwurst and tater tots), veggie or salad
*turkey sloppy joes (crockpot), corn on the cob
*taco noodle casserole
*garlic pasta with chicken and shrimp, french bread, veggie
*pizza casserole, spinach salad

This is the best menu I have seen! :woohoo:

Well yesterday was a really bad day with emotions in this house but instead of going out for lunch we ate what we had here and instead of take out for diner I made my dh go out to the grocery store to get the rest of things I needed for ma a nd cheese. :thumbsup2 I was proud of myself.

Yesterday my dd asked if we could have broccoli and cheese soup with bacon so I will be making that today alsong with the leftover cornbread I made yesterday.
Tomorrow night will be a chicken with potatoes and a veggie.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tonight will be steak, roasted sweet potatoes, and a salad. The greek salad from Thursday never got made so I switched out the fish for tonight with the steak. I am not doing really well with keeping with a plan, but hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things quickly.
