Marathon Weekend 2027

Lmao I was thinking about next year’s Goofy before I even finished the marathon!

Back in for sure and leaning heavily toward Goofy number 2, other major decision is whether we’re staying Thursday to Monday same as this year, or Friday to Tuesday and getting in a second low-crowd park day before heading home. I liked having a travel day followed by a full day to settle in this year but now that I have a better idea what to expect I don’t need it necessarily.

VGF was two thumbs up for location for me, our points are there so we’ll book at 11 months!

Hoping I'm in for Dopey #2 next year! If I do, I'm going to plan to arrive expo morning instead of the day before so that I can stay Monday for DATW. I definitely wished I had a post-races, well rested park day after everything was done this year!

Looked at the registration date and realized that I'm going to be running a work meeting at that time so ummmm... going to have to be very strategic in my use of two monitors.

I know I will have huge FOMO, but I am not doing the marathon next year. I'll definitely do the half, possibly also the 10k.

As long as registration goes well, I’m in for Dopey #4 next year. My oldest will definitely be joining for the 5k, and my youngest has a few months to make up his mind.

We also have a couple friends who might want to join for the 5k.

Undecided but probably going to go for Dopey #4 next year. As usual the final decision may be up to the Reg Day gods.

I will say the endurance I built from Chicago this past year lasted quite well into Dopey (even with minimal training in between). But I think if I had to do it again, I’d go your approach, or do marathon + one of the smaller distances (5/10k). As a first timer to Dopey, the early mornings were the most brutal part for me moreso than the distance itself. I oddly have felt better post-Dopey than I did after Chicago!
