I got one for mother's day. I love it. You just freeze the bowl and it makes up in 20min. Don't have to worry about ice and salt and all that. I also like making low fat and fruit. Good luck!

That is exactly how mine is SUPPOSED to work. I left the bowl in the freezer for 36 hours before trying it out. We ended up running it for almost an hour and still it was the same consitency as when the ingredients were poured into it...

Hmmm, sounds like there's something wrong with it. I'm guessing since you got it at an auction you can't take it back/ I'd find out what store they got it at and try anyways.

Tomorrow is grocery day so here is my plan for next week. I only have 4 meals planned because I will be spending the other days with my boyfriend now that school is over. SO nice to finally have some time off, but I have a ton of projects I want to get done before the fall (cleaning, organizing recipes from magazines, building a searchable database for my cookbooks, learning to bake more bread).

So, in no real order because some of it depends on weather...

Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Grilled Vegetables
Honey Mustard Salmon with Roasted Asparagus
Grilled Italian Sausage, Corn on the Cob, and Cole Slaw
Steak Fajitas, Mexican Rice, and Mexi Corn with Black Beans

Here is this weeks menu

Tonight was pizza and salad
Wednesday grilled chicken and corn on the cob
Thursday pork chops with rice an veggies
Friday French toast bake
Saturday ?

Tonight we are having grilled steak salad. I am doing my grocery shopping later on today, hopefully it will not be too expensive as we have all the meat we need.

Tonight is busy night for us. I lovingly refer to it as "running the Wednesday night gauntlet"...so many things to get done, so little time.

Dinner tonight:
Hot Ham and Swiss Subs
Chips
Strawberries
Cottage Cheese

This is Dis so I can talk openly about this without being looked at like I am weird...I miss Disney! :smickey: We were there in March and I miss it so much. Right now we have no Disney in the foreseeable future and that makes me sad. :sad1:

I purchased a 4 night getaway to Destin for $135. We have two years to redeem it, so I don't even know when we will be going there...but it still isn't DISNEY!

End of pity party- please don't offer cheese with my whine.

Well changed tonight's menu. Went to the grocery store and the steaks did not look good and were too expensive. So instead tonight we are having chicken apple sausages with German potato salad and fresh fruit.

After 6 years of trying to figure out "what's for dinner tonight?", I was exhausted. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel every night, I came up with a menu plan based on seasonal ingredients. Basically, its 3 weeks worth of meals that I rotate through. Within each week, I try to use many common ingredients to simplify the shopping. The result has been that my family is happier because I'm always making something they like and I'm saving time, energy and money. Its very easy to substitute a new recipe if I feel like something new or I don't feel like making something on the menu. Here's what I've tailored to fit my family:

Week 1:

Mac'n'cheese w/ veggie
Honey lime chicken w/ salad, chips & salso
Burger sliders w/ easy potato salad & veggie
Speghetti alla Ceci w/ salad & rolls
Quesadillas w/ guac & salsa

Week 2:
Beefy rice w/ veggies & rolls
Taco bar
Pasta Primavera w/ Shrimp w/ rolls
Falafel burgers w/ easy potato salad & a veggie
Carbonara w/ italian greens

Week 3:
Roasted chicken w/ salad & rolls
Fish'n'chips w/ veggie
Grilled cheese sammies w/ fruit & chips
Ginger chicken stir fry w/ rice
Breakfast for dinner

This is 5 meals per week for a reason. We eat out one meal a week, usually Saturday. Sunday dinner varies but it usually something labor-intensive and special.

Last night with the roast chicken, I made sweet potato wedges that were a big hit

Just slice sweet potatoes into wedges, in small pan melt butter(I used 2tbsp for 2large potatoes) and add in a tsp of cinnamon, you can up the ingredients based on the number of potatoes. Put in baking pan sprinkle with salt and pepper and butter mixture. Bake for 30 minutes or o until soft and brown. Temp can be whatever your oven is at, mine was 425. But if it was 350,I just would have cooked them longer.

Those sweet potatoes sound amazing. I am going to try them soon.

Tonight I am angel hair pasta with chicken and garlic roasted grape tomatoes and zucchini with a squeeze of lemon.

This week is trying to come up with meals w/out going to the store.

Monday: Teriyaki Chicken, white rice, carrot and celery sticks, pears

Tuesday: Grilled Pork Chops, white rice, and mandarin oranges

Wedneday: Tuna Spaghetti and apples (this is my kids favorite)

Thursday: Eggs and Chorizo with tortillas, mexican rice and fruit salad (fresh oranges, canned pineapple, jarred cherries and mini marshmellows)

Friday: Turkey Spaghetti and bread and butter

Thats it! After Friday we have to go to the store, no more anything! ;)

We haven't been doing very good with eating at home, however my hot water heater has been not working since 4/30 and I've been fighting with Sears :headache:

Saturday-I made homemade pizza and mozzarella sticks for the first time. The sauce and dough were good, but it wasn't put together very well, and the mozzarella sticks melted all over the frying pan before they were brown. It tasted good though.
Sunday-we had chinese take out after church
Monday-we had pork roast, chicken rice a roni, cucumbers and tomatoes
Tuesday-we had hot dogs, sauerkraut, french fries
Wednesday- we ate at Baja Fresh

Then, in no particular order:

ham steaks, cheesy potatoes, veggie
Breakfast for dinner: pancakes, bacon, sausage
Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, California blend veggies
Drunken Chicken
Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots

Saturday we might eat out because my husband is graduating from graduate school :cheer2:

Leisurely night at home for everyone.

Dinner is:
Chicken Enchiladas
Chips and Salsa
Orange Jello w/ Cool Whip

Friday night fun food:

Sloppy Joes
Mac and Cheese
Broccoli (maybe not fun, but you gott have SOMETHING nutritional :thumbsup2)
