I will most likely be gone from the thread for a bit. Yesterday, May 18, mom passed away. She was simply ready to go and got her way finally. So I will be dealing with everything that comes from that... and I have NO idea what I am doing. Tomorrow I go talk to the funeral home here and then have to figure out what has to be done since we are having the service up north. Just a lot to do, though I am taking today off to rest.

I am so very sorry to hear of your mothers passing and sending love and strength for you:sad1:.

I'm sorry to hear that as well... My mom passes away last month on April 10th so I understand what you're dealing with... Life is hard without a mom. Hugs to you!

Lily, I am so sorry for your loss. If you should need anything we are always here for you! :grouphug:

When it rains it pours here too. My youngest DD had the stomach flu last weekend and now has pneumonia in her left lung. We spent the better half of the day at Children's Hospital. She has been coughing like crazy for the last few days. She might be better to go back to school by Tuesday?

While this doesn't pertain to eating, my prayers are with you. Today I buried my grandmother who passed away after 8 months in Hospice. My grandfather passed away 4 years ago, in Hospice care. My other grandfather recently began Hospice care for terminal cancer. They are amazing people who do fantastic things. We've had both in home and hospital care with them and can't say enough. They truly make the end of a loved ones life better and the life of the family better, too. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

As a hospice RN, I appreciate being appreciated!

Sunday - omelets with sausage crumbles, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, bell peppers; sliced oranges; toast

Monday- Ham steaks with sliced potatoes and green beans

Tuesday- ham casserole, tossed salad, rolls

Wednesday - hot ham and cheese sandwiches and onion rings

Thursday - baked chicken, asparagus, brown rice

Friday - chicken rotini toss

Saturday- Swiss steak with mashed potatoes

LilyWDW, I'm very sorry to hear about your mom. I will keep you in my prayers.

tinkmom2, I'll pray for a speedy recovery for your daughter. My younger sister struggles with bouts of pneumonia often, it's no fun.

Well, I haven't been here for a good long while but I'm committed to getting back on track. DBF and I really want to reign in our spending, especially on eating out. Too much fast food, not good for our waists or wallets. This is what the coming week looks like..

Today: Freezer Feast - Buffalo wings & honey tenders (last few in each bag) w/ steak fries (also the last bits of the bag) and corn.
Tomorrow: Turkey tacos
Tuesday: Eat Out - Youngest sister has a choir concert, so either eating out w/ the fam afterwards or grabbing something on our way home.
Wednesday: Smoky mesquite bbq chicken w/ rice & corn.
Thursday: Pork roast...not sure *exactly* how to prepare it, haha, but I'll look up an easy recipe tomorrow. Potatoes & a vegetable on the side.
Friday: Shrimp w/ rice and broccoli.
Saturday: Hot dogs & chili

Some days may get swapped with others, but I feel good knowing I have whole meal options ready to go.

I am sorry your daughter is not feeling well. I once had the same. First a stomach bug and then pneumonia. Once I got antibiotics for the pneumonia I was good within a couple of days, though still drained.

Thanks dear! I wonder if the two are related? She may have sucked some liquid into her lungs when she has the stomach flu. I don't think she will make it to school tomorrow:( We've been up most of the night and she still has a fever.

Saturday: chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, watermellon
Sunday: hamburgers, fries, cole slaw

Woohoo! I had a phone interview for the hospital I wanted to work at and a in person interview tomorrow:O I don't know what to wear! It's hotter than heck here. I am broke and will have to rummage through my closet. And my graduation is Friday!

This has been one of those weeks (almost 2 really) where I have been eating whats on hand and in the freezer and just buying milk, bread and produce.

I will do a BIG shop on Friday because I am slowly running out of everything. I like to do this once in awhile or we just keep accumulating things and have to throw them out.
So.. this week
Tonight was Turkey Sausage, Baked Potatoes and Broccoli.
Tomorrow.. Slowcooker Roast Beef on a bun, salad.
Wednesday.. Breakfast for dinner
Thursday... Spaghetti and Meatballs.

Friday.. My sisters birthday dinner at my moms
Saturday.. Probably meatball subs with the leftover meatballs from Thursday.

Had to redo my meals for this next week and shopped for through next Monday. the funeral will be mid to late next week in Indy so I will be out of town for awhile then. Thank you all for the well wishes. It has been hard and I am sad, but I am also feeling peaceful. Mom is healed now and is no longer in pain. It is better now then it was for her... and that is what matters.

So here are my meals.

Tuesday: Vegetable Lasagna and Garlic Bread

Wednesday: Leftover Lasagna

Thursday: Chicken Fajitas and Rice

Friday: French Toast, Chicken Sausage, and Fruit

Saturday: Chicken with Peanut Sauce and Sweet Potatoes, and Rice

Sunday: Macaroni and Cheese and Steamed Broccoli

your dinner of burgers with onion straws sounds delish!! I am in love with the Wiskey River BBQ burger from Red Robin (on lettuce with the BBQ on the side) because it has onion straws on it!
