I have a suggestion for the crazy plane beach tour.
Since we will most likely have several vehicles, would it be possible to allow a portion of the group to go to Orient Bay, while the others go to Gallon Bay. Then everyone meets up at Maho for some crazy plane watching.
Then, we split again, those wanting to head back to the boat, and those wanting to go to Marigot.

Sounds great to me. We are kind of paranoid about missing the boat anyways.

:thumbsup2 That's more or less what I posted about two pages earlier ;)
With the four or five vehicles we need, we're totally flexible and should be able to cater to all wishes.

2CrazeGoofies: I just sent you a PM because I have a FE Exchange question for you...

Thanks! :)

Oh is that what you were saying:rotfl:
Thanks for agreeing with me on this one;)

My Fairy Godmother (you know who you are! ; ) )waved her sparkly wand & granted my wish for a cabana! Just booked it! Couldn't have done it without you!
Thank you from the bottom of my big Disney Lovin' heart!

I just put you down for a keelhaul pirate:

I contacted Lea a couple of minutes ago to add two more People for the St Marteen-Tour. Our table of ten Cruisetoberfest-veterans will attend in full strength :grouphug:

If you have a Disney VISA and are planning to visit EPCOT pre- or post-cruise, you will have access to a special perk! :cool1: I just received the following information in an email:

While you're exploring the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival you can also enjoy exclusive access to the Chase Lounge (separate Epcot® admission is required). Cardmembers can have a seat, put up their feet, and relax on a comfy couch. You can also recharge your cell phone (and yourself), enjoy complimentary soft drinks, purchase a beer or glass of wine, and catch up on some of your favorite magazines and sports on TV. After you are refreshed and ready for more, check the interactive festival map, grab your passport and head out to sample more.

Cardmembers can visit the Chase Lounge from 11am-9pm on Sunday through Thursday and 11am-10pm on Friday and Saturday during the festival.

The Lounge is located in the American Adventure Pavilion on the third floor (please use the elevator located between the attraction and the gift shop).

Present your Disney's Visa Card to gain access to the Lounge.

I feel that may be a bit extreme for an instance of forgetting that I had read that before. :littleangel:
However, a slow keelhauling would not be to terribly destructive, as I have been told on more than 1 occasion that I am part fish. :fish:
On the other hand, if you intend on a swift keelhauling, I believe that if I put it to a vote (as our group has traditionally done::yes::), I am sure the majority would side with me as to assure that I am able to retain my extremities (not to mention my skin):scared1:

Side note: I have not prepared for this years pirate unit study, and keelhaul was not on my speak like a pirate app, so I did have to look up the reference.
It's a good thing that I know you have a warped since of humor.

Tink,
my sense of humour is not warped but pirate-like pirate:
But my picture of a pirate may be different from yours as nowadays most people think of Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow when they think of pirates. I have to admit that even though I like most things Disney I don't care much for the POTC- movies. I prefer older pirate-flicks like 'The Crimson Pirate' starring Burt Lancaster. IMHO the last really good pirate movie was 'Cutthroat Island' starring Geena Davis.
And of course German history has its own share of pirates, who were roaming the seas well before America was discovered by Columbus. Have a look:

Congrats.....I am still checking and looking everyday.. Maybe your fairy godmother has a sister she can send my way..lol. Again congrats...

Our shopping tour was very successful today:
We found a really nice strapless gown for Anja. There were hundreds to choose from. Surprisingly nearly everything was available in XXS (American size 2), but fortunately she was able to narrow it down to a small number she took to the fitting room.
She only had to try on four different dresses til she found the perfect match. Of course she had to switch between her two favourites several times ;), but just when I said 'Why don't you take both?' she made a decision :thumbsup2
We got to the store, a huge upscale department store like Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus, shortly after it opened its doors. Even though they had like a dozen stalls for fitting, a line was forming before we were done.
Upon leaving we discovered a sale on men's shirts by one of my favourite brands and so I got a nice shirt for the cruise, reduced from €90 ($120) to €70 ($96) :cool1:
Then we went to a huge sporting goods store, where Anja found a nice Bikini.

Shortly before we left for the city our suitcase was delivered by DHL. The TSA-officers had damaged the lock during my last trip to Denver, because they were obviously too stupid to open a TSA-lock :rolleyes1, but fortunately the manufacturer stood up for the damage and repaired it for free.

The only thing we didn't buy was the couple watches as the jeweller's store was packed with Chinese tourists, but at least we now know that they have the watches we're interested in, because they were on display. We plan to go there again on Tuesday afternoon, which also gives us time to think whether we really want to spend that much for two timepieces - we could easily do three cruises for that kind of money. :crazy2:

Unfortunately on the way home we passed our favourite doughnut store and couldn't resist as they had a new flavour: Kiwi Cream. So we arrive home with a box holding half a dozen, which means that tomorrow morning we need to run at least a mile more than usual :earboy2:

Thanks for the link. I Will add that in with our lessons before the cruise. It will go great with his German class.
As for Johnny Depp, I don't care for him in anything. For example, another Disney movie I have no interest in (purely because of his involvement) is Lone Ranger. Which is sad. Our family enjoys the classic tv shows like the Lone Ranger. It is a treat to see them remade into movies when they stay true to the original. However, that does not appear to be the case with Lone Ranger after the flamboyant? drunk? pirate got a hold of it.

Notice to late comers, contact Pontiuspython. She has volunteered to oversee putting something together for late comers.

:thumbsup2 I will try to keep the FE at (or very Near) the top of each new page from now until we cruise for convenience. :thumbsup2

'The Lone Ranger' flopped in the American cinemas and it looks very much like the same is happening over here. It started two days ago in our theatres and all reviews I heard or read are devastating. It looks like Disney dumped $250 million down the drain, but with the $1.8 billion profit they made last year they should be able to afford it ;)
I guess the movie will run on the ship or perhaps even aboard our flight to Atlanta on 9/28. I'll give it a try then or wait til it's available on Lovefilm, the German equivalent to Netflix, but I definitely won't buy it.
Anja & I don't like cinemas very much, we usually wait til the movies are available on BluRay and enjoy them a home. We have a 3D TV specially designed for movies in the 21:9 widescreen format and a 6.1 audio system that provides a similar experience like a cinema - without people talking on cellphones, munching popcorn noisily or running to the bathroom every few minutes :happytv:
We often have BluRays sent from the United Kingdom as they are available there well before Germany, sometimes so early that we can watch them at home while they're still running in the theatres.

Good morning everyone, :goodvibes
One of our Group II members is making special individualized gifts for her group (she also has signed into the late comers group to help boost their numbers...so, this message is also for late comers - group III). She has placed a post on the group page asking for the gender of the adults in the cabins that she will be making gifts for.

To help with the gathering of this info, I added a column to the form titled 'Extra FE information' on the group page.
To get there, click on the database tab on the group page (you can find that on the left hand side of the page). Once you open the extra FE, find your name and click the edit button at the end of the row with your info. And then save when you're done. If you have not yet added anything to this table, simply click 'add record' at the top of the table, and fill in the questions.

I'm sure Heather would appreciate our help, and it sounds like we are in for a wonderful surprise:bitelip:

We were out shopping for some of our final vacation items yesterday when I came across the perfect gift for my pirate nemesis pirate:
So, Eric, you will need to make just a little more room in your take home luggage.
As I had mentioned before, I was already planning to bring you something from my home town, but that by itself just won't do.
I had to get you 1 more special gift.
Don't worry, it is not going to stretch your skills of stowing a captain's share of the booty into a swabbies sack.:p

:confused:Side note on home town goodies: Do you and Anja have any special collections, like collectors spoons, or hats, shirts, or key rings?

Thanks Tink!

Ok, the poll has closed....2/3 want to visit Orient Beach and Marigot.

Even votes after that for Orient and NO Marigot, Gailon and Marigot and Gailon and NO Marigot.

Following Tink's wonderful suggestion, I will arrange:

1 bus to Orient Beach, Maho Beach then Marigot

1 bus to Gailon Beach, Maho Beach then No Marigot

This means you can swap buses at Maho Beach depending on your desire to visit Marigot or not.

I will email all this to Bernard and make the booking.

I will pay the $50 deposit, and the balance of funds is due on the day to the tour guide in cash ($35pp).

Can those attending please send me a PM so I can know how many people will be going on which bus for the first beach visit - Bernard needs this information.

Viking, Papa, CheesePlease and Mickeyfan9194 - I already have your numbers (10 all up for Orient/Marigot)

Thanks! :)
