Eastern Caribbean Fantasy Oct. 5, 2013

Thanks Tink!

Ok, the poll has closed....2/3 want to visit Orient Beach and Marigot.

Even votes after that for Orient and NO Marigot, Gailon and Marigot and Gailon and NO Marigot.

Following Tink's wonderful suggestion, I will arrange:

1 bus to Orient Beach, Maho Beach then Marigot

1 bus to Gailon Beach, Maho Beach then No Marigot

This means you can swap buses at Maho Beach depending on your desire to visit Marigot or not.

I will email all this to Bernard and make the booking.

I will pay the $50 deposit, and the balance of funds is due on the day to the tour guide in cash ($35pp).

Can those attending please send me a PM so I can know how many people will be going on which bus for the first beach visit - Bernard needs this information.

Viking, Papa, CheesePlease and Mickeyfan9194 - I already have your numbers (10 all up for Orient/Marigot)

Thanks! :)

Awesome. Thanks Lea. Sending you a PM now.

Thanks. Lea.

Thinking of the cruise is a big boost for my morale presently as I have been admitted to the hospital yesterday with severe renal colics.
Spent a bad night, but hopefully getting better soon. I'm waiting now to be taken to an x-ray with contrast agent. I hope it's just a kidneystone, that can be busted using sonic energy to be then passed the natural way - without a surgical procedure.
Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Thanks. Lea.

Feel better soon! Think of that warm Caribbean sun...

Thanx, Lea.
They located the stone. I'll either get rid of it drinking a lot and running the stairs or they pull it out the hard way tomorrow morning :scared1:

I just learned about FE exchanges and ordered a custom FE online that will be here in time for our cruise!

I suppose it's too late to join a FE group. Is that right? We have a 3yo girl and a 20mo boy who would love little treasures. If it's too late to join, I'll just bring stuff for our family, but I'd love to get it on it.

Please let me know. Looking forward to meeting you guys!

Hello All!
I've been keeping an eye on the Yahoo Group info pages and see that there is still the group signed up to share local wines.
Is there a day and time slated yet? Any suggestions on how many bottles to bring to share with everyone? Where are we meeting? Etc?
Just curious because I want to figure out where I will be stashing wine bottles in carry-on bag in addition to all the other stuff I'll be toting with me!!

54 DAYS!!!!

Eric,
I am sorry to hear that you are under the weather
I hope the x-rays come back with good news...I have barnacle jokes for the keelhauling jab earlier, but I will refrain.

Get Well Soon :goodvibes

Jackie,
Coreeyore was overseeing this. I have not heard any updates about it. You may want to reach out to her.
You may also want to add your name to the meet list on the group page.
As for how much to bring, I think we were all (those who showed interest) just thinking about bringing 1 bottle to sample from a winery local to our area.

Honeyblee, first let me start by saying Welcome to the group
:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:
As for the FE, our original group is closed for sign up. However, after the cut off date, a few other families did join the group and were also interested in participating in an FE. It was suggested that they organize another FE exchange with in our group. PontiusPython is overseeing the 'Late Comers - Group III' FE. You can reach out to her and let her know you are interested.
Also, I will send you an invite to our group page shortly. Once you get signed up and logged in, you can go to the 'Database' tab on the left hand side of the group page and then look for the 'Late Comers - Group III' table. Then click 'Add a Record' at the top of the screen and officially join that FE. I would act fast. She has a cut off date as well.
Again, Welcome. We are glad to have you as part of our group.

Are you referring to the meet list on the yahoo group page? I'm on that all ready but is there another list? There are, so far, 14 people on the Y! list who showed interest. I didn't see that there had been any discussion of how much we would bring but in true wine tasting form, an ounce per person, per bottle is about right.(I googled it!) That makes sense for our group size. So I guess I got some of my answers. Will contact Coreeyore to follow up.
Thanks!
Jackie

I think all of the discussion had been on the 'Genies magic carpet tours' thread here on the DIS.
Coreeyore is a manager at a winery. So, I'm sure she can give us some good info on what to do to prepare.

It looks like those of us who were waiting for a GTY room assignment finally have them. I was really hoping for some Pixie Dust and an upgrade, but no such luck. We are traveling with my in laws, and they talked us into booking a category of stateroom lower than what we wanted, because their travel agent was confident that we could get an upgrade with a GTY. I think I'm going to take care of my own travel arrangements from now on.

Anyway, enough whining on my part. I know it will be fun no matter what stateroom we are in.
I updated my Yahoo info and sent an email to my FE group members. I think that should take care of everything.

See you on board!

I was wondering if anybody knows the schedule of nights on the boat, such as formal, semi- formal, and pirate night. Also will we still have pirate night with the halloween celebration? Will they be on different nights? Thanks for any information that you can give!

According to the letter we received from the DCL, they said we would be having both (I think they said something about packing another costume along with your pirate gear).

As for the schedule, check out the group page. I have posted links to Navigators for each day of the cruise for our itinerary. The entertainment will not be the same, but I am expecting to follow the schedule pretty close.
You can also find copies of the menus on the group page.

However, I don't claim to be the expert (especially when there are members of our group that have previously sailed on the Fantasy).
Calling all Veteran Fantasy Cruisers....:yay:
Your expertise is needed.:listen:

As Tink said, there will be a Pirate Night in addition to Halloween. Unfortunately, we don't know yet which night Halloween festivities will occur.

Does anyone have any recommendations for shore excursions with younger children? Our DD is 4 years old and too young for most of the stuff listed at the ports. There are a few that she can participate in, but I wanted to see if anyone had something they recommended before we booked.

Thanks,
Jaime

Tink,
I'd rather endure a keelhaul -perhaps even with barnacles- than another renal colic!
I had the stone removed yesterday, but I'm still in the hospital with the hope of being able to go home tomorrow.

Not sure if I replied to your specific message--still learning the ropes of the DIS board and how to navigate & use. Our cabin is all adults except for my 10 yr. old granddaughter. Our group includes me-the mother & grandmother, an aunt and my 2 daughters, both in their 30's.
