Roxy~
Thanx for the post card from Disney World:thanks:

It was sooooo cute:goodvibes

Who would have guessed that Mickey was a pin trader :earboy2:
(well DH said it was a given;) )

Anyway, with our trip fast approaching it got me thinking about our Post Card list:eek:

I have a few address from those of you that have already added to the Genie's Magic Carpet Tours Address Book under the database tab on our group page.
If you would like to be added to my post card list, please stop by our group page and add your address. Or, if you don't want to post your address in the address book, but would like a post card from Radiator Springs, you can PM me :thumbsup2

Howdy to all,

I have been doing some looking for cancer support ribbons.

:goodvibes I would still like to incorporate a ribbon with the phrase survivor, care taker, or supporter (individualized of course) into part of our group shirts (I was thinking of something on the arm or back with our group design still on the front of the shirt).:goodvibes

But, I have come across something else that I think will be a great way for us to show our support through out the cruise:love:
I have found a place where I can order embroidered stick on ribbons. They come 10 to a sheet (by color) and are reuseable. That means that you can move your ribbon from one out fit to another through out the cruise. And with 10 to a sheet, I am sure that I would have enough to hand out second ribbons if the sticky wears off ;)

What I would need to find out though is what type of cancer each of you would want to show support for. Each cancer type has a different color of ribbon to represent it.

For example, I would get black ribbons for myself and my family to show that I am a Melanoma survivor.

So, if you could let me know what form of cancer has effected someone in your life (or if you have been blessed to not have encountered it at all, just let me know which cancer you would like to show your support for:hug:)

A list of the different types of cancers and there colors can be found on our group page. I will put a post up there in the picture section.:surfweb:

I just got some new info about goings on aboard the Fantasy.

According to the email update I just read, kiddo's can now customize their cruise vacations. In the dedicated kid's areas, they can choose experiences based on individual interests.

The kids can personalize their cruise vacation by selecting activities and events, regardless of age:

Clubhouse Series – focused on movement and appeals to younger children:tigger::goofy::figment::mickeyjum
Storybook Series – draws inspiration from classic Disney stories and popular Disney characters princess:pooh:pluto:
Jump Up! Series – includes group games and movement-orientated activities :yay::yo-yo:
Create & Invent Series – Hands-on activities appeal to children’s sense of creativity and invention :teleport::stir::duck:
In the Spotlight Series – focuses on stage presence with activities and enthusiasm :mic::dancer::rockband:
Solve It Series – challenges children with problem- and solution-based activities :scratchin:idea::teacher:

Also, according to the update, while activities that appeal to specific maturity levels and ages are still recommended, the entire menu of offerings is open to every child. So, the kiddos can choose a program based on their interests for a one of a kind experience. The best thing is, siblings, extended family and friends – can participate in youth activities together.

So, as we start our planning, our kids can start theirs. As I have read through things like our FE lists, it appears that several of our kiddo's already have similar interests, so this will be great:thumbsup2

I have tried to look into this a little more, but was only able to find that specifics on the programs will be available at the Youth Activities registration desk located in the cruise terminal, or on board in the Oceaneer Club and lab.

And, another update that may interest any of you that enjoy Martinis.
Skyline (a lounge on the Dream and the Fantasy that offers a changing skyline scenery of cities from around the world like Paris, New York and such).
will now have a passport that you can get stamped throughout your cruise. And as I understand, this will include 7 original Martinis, each themed after the featured cities. The Passport appears to be a bundle purchase, and supposedly results in a good savings (if you are a martini drinker) :drinking1, plus you get all of the recipes:stir: for the 7 different martinis and pictures of all 7 skylines.

Happy Planning

Pixie,
I would have to pick all cancers. When sitting here thinking about it I have lost close family members to breast, ovarian and liver cancer. I also have family members who are survivors of thyroid, cervical and melanoma.
I also think the ribbons are a fantastic idea.
Thanks for the update for children and the martini passport which sounds kind of fun to try out.

Howdy all :wave2:,
Well, we are almost to the end of August, and that means one more month closer to our cruise...YEAH
It also means it is time for another monthly planning party ::yes::

This month we are planning and prepping the room divider for our cabin.

You see, we are in an 8A cabin, which as I understand, is like a mini suite, but, there is no dividing wall,no privacy curtain, and no split bath (the bath room is over-sized, but no place for me to have a dressing room). It also looks like if you open the cabin door, you can see the whole cabin. Soooooo, being the only girl in our family, I would like a little privacy.

We were thinking of having something similar to an inflatable limbo stand that could hold up a decorated curtain, or even possibly use those hooks that you can put up by pulling the tab in the back (and they do not leave any marks or sticky behind). If we used those, I was thinking that maybe we could set it up on the door and door frame of the cabin when I got back to the cabin first (which when we consider hair washing, styling, and make-up, I would have to:blush:), and then move it to the bathroom door when the boys are wanting to get ready (that way they do not need to lock themselves in a stuffy / humid bathroom). Finally at night, we could have it attached around the upper bunk kind of like a curtain (wow, as I am typing, that sounds like a lot of work:scared1:)

As you can see, I am kinda stumped......
Does anyone have any ideas on this :listen:

We loved this cabin for it's size and 2 giant window's w/ seats , but are bummed about the lack of privacy curtains. :worried:

So any help would be greatly appreciated:goodvibes

:offtopic:
I realize this is off topic for the cruise planning, so, I am asking for those that may have some input to come over to the group page and let me know what you think::yes::

On a more of a get to know you topic, I am officially a first time football mom (a side note to Eric, I am talking American football with touch downs, pads, and helmets :rotfl: ) and, I had a melt down at practice yesterday (first day in pads). My good friend who is also experiencing football for the first time as a mom this year has been soooooo busy, that we have not been able to chat about this, and I was hoping that some of you out there have been through this before and may be able to give me some tips.

I am starting a thread on our group page, and would love to hear from y'all :listen:

Any words of advice, or wisdom that may calm me down, or even just some pointers.

Thanks for your patience with my off topic post:blush:.....I hope this is an opportunity to get to know each other a little better:)

Take me off the list as well. Wedding postponed til I don't know well. There's a possibility Ill be able to get a deal on it closer to the day and go anyways, but we have no plans for it for now :(

Today is a sad day :sad2:

I am posting an update to our list, but it is because we lost 2 members today.

Greetings to all my Cruise buddies:wave2:

I am sorry it has been sooooo long since my last post, but as many of you know, we have been on a Disney adventure.

Let me start with a HUGE Thanks to everyone who aided in our planning the unveil. :thanks:
The radio unveil was a complete success:mic:, and our youngest was blown away.

Now, I know we have all come together to plan an awesome cruise, not a trip to the parks, but.....
We do ALL love Disney. :lovestruc:earboy2:
So, I am going to load and post pictures of the new Carsland :car:on our group page for anyone who is even just a little curious to see the latest Imagineer wonder.

By the way, special note to Eric:
My youngest and I have learned (and Memorized) our first German song - :rolleyes1 Je ofter wir uns treffen :rolleyes1
Oh yeah, also...enjoy Octoberfest... our Wuerstfest does not start until Nov. 1 this year :confused3

~Tink~

P.S. We gathered some pixiedust on our adventure. If I had your address you should be receiving part of it soon (if you have not already). Other parts are stowed away for the trip next year.

Tink,
So happy to hear your reveal was successful and you had a great time at Disneyland.

We just got back from a nice vacation to the Oregon Coast and am now busy planning our February trip to Disney World for my daughter's early graduation and 18th birthday present. We are also doing a campus tour at the beginning of that trip to my daughter's number 1 choice for school next year. Which is Kansas State University. So I get to spend a couple of days in February in Kansas and what joy that will be since I am not one who enjoys being cold in the least.

Also busy planning for our cruise which is just a little over a year away... We can't wait for that.

We've also been abroad for some time:
We were on Treasure Island, Florida from 9/8 til 9/22 and had a lot of fun. We ran 5 miles on the beach every other´day, attended some Zumba-classes and acquired a great tan. We also did a lot of shopping

Definitely no Oktoberfest for us, Pixie!!!
A) we rarely drink alcohol
B) we dislike huge crowds
C) Munich isn't exactly around the corner. It's 250 miles southeast of Frankfurt

No cruise planning for us so far. We have another vacation in December. It's just a week, but we don't have any plans for that yet, so we need to take care of it soon.

And then we have to decide what to do in spring 2013: We're considering to fly either to Fuerteventura or to Thailand for two weeks. We'll probably make that decision in early November

Quick question...
Is this Eric using a different name, or do we have a new cruiser joining our group????

I was wondering the same thing! :confused3

It's been a loong time since I've been on here. Glad Tink and her family had an awesome time in CA. We are just over one year countdown... Oh so much to do! And, I have taken the plunge and am awaiting acceptance for a mission trip to an orphanage in Northern Nicaragua in Feb. 2013 while hubby stays home with the kids.

Hope all is well with everyone... Enjoy the Fall colors if they change for you!

Just booked this yesterday!!! So excited! Especially because we were going to do a 4- night on the Dream, but upgraded to the Fantasy!
It will be me, DH, DS 11, DD 9 and DS 7 (ages as of next year).
Looking forward to reading through this thread as this is our FIRST Disney cruise!!! We are clueless...which is a strange feeling for us since we could walk around WDW blindfolded (we've been there 9 times!).
