What would you do?:confused3
Ugh! Short trip over an August weekend. I can go real early-6:45 am flight, we'd need to leave the house to go to the airport at 4:45 am. Gets in at 9:30 am at MCO. That would give us a half day more park time. Or, take a later flight getting in at 5pm. Is the half day worth it??? I'd love to say heck yeah...but realistically we would be trashed from getting up so early.
Oh, the dilemma....
Opinions...

I would definitely take the earlier flight - you can use that time in Disney in sooooo many different ways and just plain relaxing can be one of them. Also if the later flight is delayed for some reason you have lost your whole day.

i always take the earliest flight out.

i can never sleep well the night prior to a trip so might as well take that early flight.

Agree with everyone else - early flight! Ours leaves at 6am, so DH wants to leave home at 3:30 am - won't sleep anyhow (too excited to sleep). We usually go to bed as early as possible the night before to try and get 6-7 hours sleep, then when we get to our resort, as the room isn't usually ready, we hit the pool for some snooze time or just lounging in the pool chairs. Then as soon as our room is ready, we can either have a nap or just unpack, have dinner and head to a park. We do the opposite coming home - book the latest nonstop flight home, check out in the morning, and spend the day either lounging around the resort, or park hopping to get one last favourite thing done :goodvibes

Yup -- definitely the early flight! As others have said, you're less likely to run into issues/delays that would really derail your trip and there does seem to be a greater chance of issues later in the day (at least in our experience). Early means no traffic getting to the airport, etc. Also agree about not really being able to sleep the night before, and wanting to just GET THERE on your travel day.

We usually arrive around noon (after getting out of the house around 4:30 a.m. or so), check in, head to a park for qs lunch (no adr, as the timing issue just creates too much stress). Then an earlier dinner and a relatively early night and we're raring to go the next day.

Early it is! :cool1:
Now I need to find a deal on a rental car...yikes, they're expensive!:faint:

That's early, but I'd probably do it and try to stay at the airport vs being an hour away. We don't do a park on our arrival day. We are so tired from not sleeping (me) and waking up early. We hang out at the pool and we go to chef mickeys for dinner and then go back to the pool.

Oh, my original jet blue flight out of Hartford was scheduled for 7 am. We were going to stay up at the airport since we are about 50 min away but now it is for just after 8 so we are staying home...I think!
