we got a 'comeback' offer last week at asmu, so i had to book our next trip, lol! we are going 11/6-11/20. what can you tell me about crowds and weather? tia

The Super Soap Weekend will most likely be around the 8-9th and that will make MGM busy. Someone will know the dates for sure. Also Veterns Day will add to the crowds a bit. Sometime in early Nov. is "Jersy Week" and that will make everything more crowded too. I would not worry about any of these but just plan around them. These are not like Spring Break / Christmas crowds. The week before Thanksgiving week (16-23) is one of our favorite times to be there, no lines at all!!!!:)

The weather is balmy, not too hot (usually, although this past Nov. it was very warm) and the crowds are low. However, last year those dates included Super Soap weekend and Jersey Week, so the crowds become fuller during those days. Enjoy! We're sending my in-laws 10/31 - 11/5.

We have gone during that time for the last 3 trips and the weather was mild and the crowds were not bad during the week. Weekends tend to be more crowded and the nights are chilly. We are going again this year the first week of Nov.

super soap week might be fun, can you tell me more about it?

but jersey week, i think i've heard of that. how crowded does it get? any idea on dates?

We went in Nov. 2002 during Veteran's week without knowing Jersey Week & Super Soaps Weekend were going on.

We were pleasantly surprised to find out that Jersey Week was the week prior to our stay (we actually arrived on Friday when it was just about ending).

I was concerned with Super Soaps Weekend but the only crowds were at MGM over the weekend. My DD just had to see Eva LaRue so we made it a point to go there on Sunday!!

Anyway, the rest of the week was great - many walk on attractions. The weather was comfortable. A few days were hot so we made them pool days & a few days were in the mid 70's so we did parks & were very comfortable. The nights were pleasant also. We only had 1 day of rain & that was the day we were leaving.

We had such a good time I have already booked the trip for Nov. 2003. :Pinkbounc

"Jersey Week" is usually around the 2nd week of November. There is a Teacher's Convention for a few days and a lot of families from New Jersey schedule their vacations that week because it's lower attendance than, say, the summer or Christmas.

In my opinion, it does get very crowded that week. We were there once or twice and I remember leaving a day early to come home because of the crowds. At that time though, there wasn't FP, so just try and utilize FP and EE.

Have fun!

Disnee Dad Says..............................We have gone three times, this time of year. The crowds die off the day after Veteran's Day. For that long a stay you should go with AP's. During Jersey week, which is really more like 5 days. Hit the parks early and then resort hop or pool it. Even during this crowded time it's not that crowded, it's just that we are used to the lines after Veteran's Day. VERY short. Stand by lines for the best rides were often 10-15 minutes, the posted times. Actually more like 5.

hi: i believe the NJEA teachers' convention is scheduled for 11/6 and 11/7 for this year. we've gone during that time frame and it was a bit more crowded. it was definitely manageable though. this past year we went around october 24th and still managed to get into the food and wine festival.
