I think pants would be a good idea too. :thumbsup2

Sharon--Don't forget the pants!!! Thanks, Cristi, I'll double check my suitcase to make sure I have bottoms.

Kathryn--Glad I could add small intervals of entertainment to your day. We did have a dad ask to be a chaperone on our Minneapolis trip (3 nights in a hotel). His wife is an executive at a major corporation in our town and he is Mr. Mom, except he is creepy. I think he wants to be one of the girls, chatty and sharing personal things, but he is a guy. We politely to him no. I'm glad your DH escaped the experience with little more than emotional scarring.

Michael--I'm liking that forecast!! :cool1:

I like that forecast!!

We have a dad who is a leader for his daughter's troop. He is really great, but it does make it a little more difficult when planning big camping trips.

I have to share this recipe that my neighbor gave me. I made it for dinner tonight and it is really good.

Crockpot Taco Soup
1 can kidney beans
1 can great Northern beans
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can navy beans
1 can Rotel with cilantro
1 can Mexi-corn
1/4 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg original hidden valley ranch (not buttermilk)
salt
pepper
onion
garlic salt
hamburger

You brown the meat with the onion, garlic, salt and pepper then add that along with everything else to a crock pot and cook. I cooked mine on high for about 3 1/2 -4 hours. I think if you did it on low all day it would be good too.

I used two cans of black beans and got rid of the kidney beans. I also added about half a pack of the taco seasoning and used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. I took two of my empty cans and rinsed them and dumped the water into the crockpot to give it a little broth.

I served it with tortillas on the side and cheese on top (Rachel used a cheddar jack mix and Brad and I used pepper jack, Jacob didn't even try the soup :confused3 )

Now, off to the laundry and more packing.

That recipe sounds really good. We're having turkey enchiladas (using up that Thanksgiving turkey from the freezer). Mmmm... I love cold weather food.

Stacie, our choir concert was moved from last Wed. to this Wed., too. Except none of us parents knew until the kids came home from school last Wednesday - the day of the concert! I'm thinking, "Hello???? It's holiday time, people..." We work so hard to wedge everything in, and this just makes it so much harder. Now DD will miss part of her GS meeting (holiday tea and awards ceremony) and I'll be late to my own piano recital that night. Oh well - two days later, we're on a plane and I won't even remember.

Vicki, thanks so much for that forecast! Where'd you get the information? I tried looking up Castaway Cay on weatherunderground and got an error message.

We finally got our tree today, and some presents wrapped to put under it. :goodvibes

Suitcases slowly filling up! I truly can't believe it's so soon!

Cristi~that sounds like a good recipe. I would enjoy it, but DH won't eat anything with kidney/navy/or any other kind of beans. I'm sure DD wouldn't try it either. I hope John will be a good eater. So far it's not looking promising though.

Our weather is throwing a glitch in my packing plans. The high tomorrow is 78. DH is going to play golf:rolleyes1 He'll be wearing shorts that should have been packed away weeks ago.

Happy packing everyone. Not much longer now.pirate: :hourglass

I got quite a bit done this evening. The laundry is almost finished (I know, I know.... I will have to do some again by Thursday). I have a lot of things in the suitcases. I don't have shoes or accessories or toiletries in there, but most of the clothes are in there. Right now I am thinking that I won't have as many suitcases this time as I did last time. I am not sure how that is working out. I have to be forgetting something. :confused3

Thats ok. I looked in the suitcase today and found out I was missing something really important - the unmentionables. That wouldn't have been a good thing. Mike would have been driving us to the mall once we got to the hotel and noticed that.

Just look at a packing list - It will jog your memory just in case.

My DS (the 15yo) has a crappy attitude this weekend. I'm threatning him with no Stack time, or leaving him home. What a crabby pants. His parents are taking him on a cruise and letting him miss a week of school, what could his problem be, except that he is so spoiled so much he stinks!

Or he is just a teenager...

I think I was generally crappy towards my parents at 14/15. My mother and I have since improved our relationship greatly :goodvibes
