Hey Stacie, enjoy the quiet! In three months or so, it won't be so quiet. (Disbaby)

Yearbook- If you booked a guarantee, you probably have a long wait to find out your room number. And, if you have four, you will be upgraded at least to a category 11, so say the experienced cruisers.

Back to work tommorrow!!
Aww thats sad.

Only 17 more months :D

17 months sounds better then 516 days

Hi guys! I'm back! Just popping in really quick to let you know I am home. I am really tired and I have to work tomorrow. I just real quickly read over the thread.

Welcome Yearbook!!

Congrats on the blinds Tammy! We had a great time meeting Tammy and her daughter in Nashville! We are going to have so much fun on this cruise! Too bad it is so far away. :( Did you make it to the movies that night after dinner Tammy?

I will try to catch up more later this week. I am going to be really busy though. I have to work 6 out of the next 7 days. :scared1:

Christi--I am glad that you made it home safely and without a southern accent. Ha ha. Try not to work too hard. We made it to the movies and it was a madhouse and Pirates was sold out. It took another three days to actually see the movie. Johnny was worth it though.

Hey Queen-If 17 months sounds better then 1.5 years sounds even better. Maybe not. Ha.

Talk to you guys later!

Tammy, you got me there. Yes one year & 5months sounds great :rolleyes1

Well we just hit the 16month mark YIPPIE!!! I am so glad the contractor finally started showing up. He came this weekend and ripped up the floor and carpet. After he put wedges in the floor to make the floor level. We have a 130 year old house that has not settled level.

I am so happy you mastered the art of hanging window stuff. It is not fun but so worth the money you save.

All I seem to do is think of the up comming cruise....it will never get here fast enough.

Kristin

Cristi-Glad you made it back, hope you have an easy week back at work, going back to work after vacation is no fun.

Kristen-Great news about the contractor, hope all goes well.

The cruise does seem a ways off, although time flies. Speaking of time flying, the baby is only a little ways off. :scared1: We went to Babies-R-Us this weekend I started to get freaked out about all the stuff we need for baby. We started to look at cribs and furniture and got overwhemlmed. We ended up just buying a stroller.

We got the pets back this morning, so the house isn't as quiet but still weird without the kids. DD gets homesick and we left her at camp crying yesterday. I wrote her a letter today and tried not to get any tear stains on it. I always felt horribly homesick, I hate it that she does too. Does anyone else's kids get homesick?

Tonight DH and I went out for supper and ice cream at our favorite little ice cream place in the next town. Tomorrow we're going back up to Des Moines to get the shower doors and vanity for the bathroom. I think we'll have supper at Applebee's.

Hope everyone has a good night!!

Good morning everyone!

Kristin, I am glad you got the contractor back too work!

Stacie, good luck on getting baby stuff. I am sure it is really overwhelming. When do you move into your new house?

Tammy, I did make it back without too much of an accent. :) I always pick up a little accent when I go back. Especially if I go to my grandmothers. I miss the good southern food. I was telling a friend of mine here who is from a town close to Memphis about all of the things I got to have while we were gone. Catfish, bbq pork twice, Krystals twice, Shoneys (hot fudge cake yumm!), Cracker Barrel for breakfast twice, sweet corn straight from the garden and home grown tomatoes!!!!! I could live on the corn and tomatoes (well, maybe with a little bit of the bbq thrown in :rotfl: )

We had fun on the trip. The HS reunion was interesting. It was mostly people I didn't hang out with at all. There were a few people that I had a good time catching up with. One girl I went to school with has 7 kids and she home schools them! :worship: I have a lot of respect for her organizational skills. They had a family event at the lake on Saturday. You will be happy to know that I spent time walking on the pier and I didn't fall off once. :lmao: I was nervous though because I was holding the camera. :rotfl: You will probably stilll have to keep a close watch on me on the cruise though because once I start talking and walking who knows what will happen. :rotfl2:

Christi- I remember reading that story (about the pier) and it really, really cracked me up. Mainly because I am see myself doing the exact same thing!!

Stacie, tried to PM you.

I'm with the other talkers & walkers, never feel in the water, but have done some dumb things. Most of the time I walk into other people

What's wrong with a Southern accent? :confused3

DD started school on Monday. DH did take the day off and we went to see POTC pirate: . I thought it was great. We even stayed to watch all of the credits b/c we've learned that Disney always puts something after the credits. Then we were rushing to pick dd up from school on time.

Today I took dd to the doctor. She has bronchitis. I hope I can get her to take her medicine.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying cool in this unbearable heat.

Just don't walk into me on a pier or I might fall in.

Nothing is wrong with a southern accent. I love them! I just haven't had one in a really long time. I did pick up a couple of things here and there while I was gone though.

Hope everyone is keeping cool. It is only around 90 here today. I guess while we were gone it topped 100 several days. It still didn't feel that bad though when we got home because there was very little humidity.

I guess I better like a southern accent because I have a very strong one. I was poking a little fun at myself! :) When I lived in Illinois, everyone thought my southern accent was funny or cute, now that I am back in Tennessee, I sound like everyone else. I guess I kinda liked having the accent more when I lived away, it was different.

One day closer to 7 nights of Disney Magic!!

Hey, my brother told me that we should vote to name the next Disney ship "Imagination". I thought that was pretty good.

I know exactly what you mean. When I first moved up here to New England, everyone commented on my southern accent that I never even knew I had until I came up here. It no longer is as noticable as it used to be, but whenever it decides to come out my coworkers giggle at me.
As soon as I visit home its back though.

My daughter moved to Maine her name is Cheryl. How can you butcher that up. Well in Maine they say Cheryl with 2 syabels(sp). They even had the nerve to tell me I was saying her name wrong. Hello I named her not them.

When she comes home she sounds she is from Boston. She is going to pak the ca :goodvibes

Park the car

Maybe I'm just having a blonde moment or Mass is growing on me...how does one say Cheryl with something other than 2 syllables?

Is she saying "wicked" yet or "pissa"?

LOL :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: It took me a moment to see you are also from New England. I just thought you were from FL. You are to funny. Ok How can I put this I guess it is like Shirley without the "ey" Shirl. I'll tell you on the cruise :rotfl2:

I just called her on the phone & asked her if she use "wicked & Pissa" she cracked up laughing, saying she knew what I meant. She said they say "Lobster" with "er " gone and "ah"on the end.

Yeah, I'm a New Englander thanks to college. I prolly wont be a New Englander once I graduate though - can't stand these winters. I can not handle snow well. (Which explains why I went for the winter cruise) I can't drive in it and I hate walking up to campus in it and ending up with the bottom half of my pants soaking wet thanks to the snow. I dont know where I'll end up though. Maybe I'll luck out and get my dream job (Disney Imagineer) right out of school.

Almost everything with the 'er' at the end turns into an "ah." You get stranges looks sometimes when you dont talk like that. I miss being able to say ain't and ya'll and dontcha and all my wonderful southern phrases.
