EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

Ouch Kristin, that is alot to take! Hopefully the termites can be treated and gotten rid of fairly easily. Here is some pixie dust-- :wizard:

I just got a call from him. His boss refuses to move him back to his old place until he tries to work things out with me. He wants to try to work things out, or so he says. He is going to get a weekly rental place in the town where we live and we are going to try to work things out. I told him I would try. I will keep a positive attitude.

TammyAlphabet, sorry to hear about hubby, now hope things work out for you. Go with what your heart feels. ;)

Wow it is a good thing we are not going to Cruise this year. I would have to cancel :sad2:

ok to get ice maker fixed 200.00 hubby buys me 2000.00 New fridge
new stove & vent mirco hood 1000.00 (Needed this)
Need new outlet for mirco hood 1500.00
Braker box is rusted out & need new service 3500.00( a must)
new floor in laundry area, off kitchen, decided to fix the whole laundry area 4000.00

It would have been cheaper to get Stacie's back hoe in here

Thanks goodness no interest on Sears card. You have all of this, but A Disney Cruise with friends next year is pricless  :cheer2:

Well, I'm back on the boards. We've been sleeping in the "new" house since last Thursday. We're kind of feeling settled. We can at least find the cereal and our clothes. Still lots of boxes to unpack.

Tammy--Hugs and prayers for you. Best of luck working things out.

Kristen and Sharon--Hopefully the black cloud of repairs and extra costs moves on. We've found out that moving isn't exactly cheap either. We need one of these, that doesn't fit, paint, wallpaper, etc. We've taken advantage of the Sears card promotion too. I left my chest freezer and upright at the old house and got a ginormous upright at Sears.

Susan--I'm so glad that things are continuing to go good for you. I'm sure your parents will be excited.

The kids start school on Thursday. Tonight we have to go to bed before 10 and tomorrow we have to get up before 9, otherwise they'll never make it through. Plus it's supposed to be hot here. The school they go to is the only one in the district with air conditioning, they're hoping that school gets out early.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Glad you are settleling Stacy. I know you have a big job, I have enough trouble moving things from point Ato B to C & back to A. It is like a dot to dot game

All new applinces(sp) are in & ready to use. Mirco hood & cabinet went in today. Now I just need the laundry area painted& that area will be done :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Next we are going to work on an addtion that was never finished. We call it the multi purpose room :rotfl2: :lmao: . It collects everything we don't have a place for. Stacy where is that back hoe. I bet if I looked I would find a kitchen sink :rotfl:
There is no heat in there, so in the winter the room makes the rest of the house cold. In the summer you can't stand to be in there it is about 120 degrees :sunny:

As long as I don't touch my cruise money I'll be ok.

Hope all is well with everyone.
We are a another month closer to going 15 months to go  :cheer2:

Sharon and Kristin...sorry about the home repair bills. That's definitely the worst part of being a homeowner. Please don't dip into your cruise accounts though!!

Speaking of cruises, DH is dying to take another one. DD is in year round school and tracks out the last 2 weeks of Sept. and first week of Oct. DH found a 4 day RCCL during her break. It's on Sovereign of the Seas. He proposes that we do to DW before and after the cruise. I'm tempted. I'll be 14 weeks pregnant. I'd probably have to buy a whole new maternity wardrobe and swimsuit.

Any suggestions?

The dr. gave me an RX for nausea. It works, but gives me a headache. My next appt. is Monday. I plan to talk with the DR about cruising and sea sickness. I guess this medicine I'm taking for nausea would work.

So has everyone's kids gone back to school now? I hope time continues to fly until our cruise.

Susan - yay for excuses for new clothes

I started classes today. This term should be ok, just a lot of busy work. Found out today that I'm producing the B Term play for my humanities project needed to graduate. I also discovered that I will be graduating a semester early so this cruise has now turned into a yay I'm graduating present to myself. Shaun and I have been talking and we may move our wedding up 5 months because of this. (I dont want to start my career having to change my name 5 months in)

Melissa--I didn't realize that your fiance's name was spelled the same as my son's, Shaun. Everyone thinks that his name is spelled weird. I always think that Sean spells seen.

Susan--I'm glad that the medication is working for you. The RCCL cruise sounds ok. Is it the one that goes to Nassau? DH and I thought about doing that one for our anniversary in October, but we booked the Mariner instead. Then we had to cancel becasue I would have been too far along. Will you be out of your first trimester then? Hopefully the nausea will go away the farther along you get.

The kids had their first day at school yesterday. It's quiet here. Just me, the pets, and boxes. The invisible fence consultant is coming at noon today to give us a quote. Does anyone have any experience with them? We know several families that have them and swear by them, I hope it's not too expensive. DS gave me his cold, so I feel like major crud. Didn't do much yesterday. Haven't done much today. DD has her first soccer game tomorrow, it's not until 10:15, so we can sleep in a little bit.

Hope everyone has a good day!

A man in Tyler had a flat tire, pulled off on the side of the road, and proceeded to put a bouquet of flowers in front of the car and one behind it. Then he got back in the car to wait.

A passerby studied the scene as he drove by and was so curious he turned around and went back.

He asked the fellow what the problem was.

The man replied, "I have a flat tire."

The passerby asked, "But what's with the flowers?"

The man responded, "When you break down they tell you to put flares in the front and flares in the back! I never did understand it either." :rotfl2:

That is a good one Sharon!!! How is everybody? I haven't posted in a while, I have been very busy! My husband and I are working things out and he is moving back home tommorrow. We start counciling on Sept. 5th to try and get things going better.

Thanks to everyone for their pixie dust, it is working.

I had my first round of faculty meetings today (all day). Then a faculty picnic. I got to meet alot of the faculty for the first time. They are very nice and very helpful. I am very hopeful that this will be a good move for me.

Hope all the home repairs are going well.

Stacie, yes it is the Nassau cruise. I'm very tempted, but not sure. I certainly don't want to be sick the whole time.

Tammy, I'm so glad you and your husband are working on things. I hope counseling helps. I'm glad you like your staff.

I liked the joke too. My dd loves to tell jokes. Most of them don't make much sense, but she likes laughing at herself.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Sharon--That must have been why nobody stopped when I had my flat in Minnesota with the Girl Scouts. No flowers! :rotfl2:

Tammy--Glad things are looking better for you. Hopefully things will fall into place. Moving is stressful, especially to a new state, job, etc.

Nothing new here, just unpacked more boxes today and got all the baby clothes hung up. I guess I had bought more blue things than I thought, I hope it's a boy or I'm going to need to do a lot more shopping.

Hi everyone!

Been busy....work has been nuts. I worked from 11pm last night and just finished up working on a major system migration! I had an hour 1/2 of sleep but did manage to go out for a couple of hours this afternoon.....and enjoy my new car that I picked up yesterday!

I had been looking at convertibles, test driving each and everyone of them in my price range, reading up on them, etc........I decided on a Mustang GT convertible Stick Shift.

We were going to wait until next year, but my dealer was able to find me one (the stick shift GT Convertibles are tough to find), and they were running their year end clearance....0% financing, plus my dealer gave me a GREAT discount and trade in since I have purchase 3 other vehicles from them.

Here it is!!!

Now I have to clean out the garage to park it!

We are having a party for my youngest tomorrow...he turns 4 on 9/2, but since it was a holiday we are having his party tomorrow......14 kids, and 21 adults....LOTS of planning and work, not to mention money! We ended up renting our Sub-Division's clubhouse for the party. Pizza, games and a Pinata.....Superman is the theme (he has a Superman Sheet/Comforter set on his bed). My wife actually found a Superman Pinata....I don't know about hitting the Man of Steel with a bat though..... :lmao:

Should be fun....it has been crazy though....my 5 YO had a Birthday party to go to last night at a Jump place, they both had another party today at the same place, then we are having the party tomorrow....that along with the car, work, etc has us EXHAUSTED!

Well...time to go to sleep!!

Good Morning!
Cool car unixadmin! I was just wondering where you had been the other day.

Sharon, good one about the flowers. :)

Susan, I am glad that the meds are working for you. Are you on phenergan or something else? I had to take phenergan with both kids. I was so sick.

Tammy, I am glad you are working things out. :grouphug:

Gotta go. I am on my way to work. BYE

Cool car unixadmin! I was just wondering where you had been the other day.

We've also been getting ready for our Member's Cruise in October, for our older son going to Kindergarten a couple of weeks ago, for our younger son's Birthday and all the other stuff we've been doing all summer.

I have had Scuba classes scheduled for 2 months and keep postponing due to scheduling. It is a Friday night, all day Sat and Sun....and it is so tough to not have something going on for one of those days....I've moved the class 4 times. I am scheduled the weekend after Labor Day and have said that I will refuse to change it no matter what comes up.

unixadm, your car is really nice.

How is everyone, the boards have been a little quiet.

Not much happening here. Finishing up the repairs, laundry should be painted maybe in the next week.

Hope all is well with everyone ;)

Hello everyone! How is everyone? It has been a little busy here the last few days. I had to work over the weekend so that always keeps me busy. It isn't usually a full day, but then you know you have to come home and do things around the house. Sunday I actually got home around 12:30 or so, but about 10 minutes after I got here my in-laws came over (I didn't know they were coming). I was trying to clean house a little bit because my co-leader was coming over at 3 to start planning our GS year. We didn't actually plan a lot since the girls are supposed to be doing more of the planning. We did fill out the request for one of the lodges at a camp this winter though and got some good ideas for things to do this year. Our first meeting is on Sept 7th so we will talk to the girls about what direction they want to go, more active things, field trips, crafts or what?

Does anyone have big plans for this weekend? We decided the other day to drive down to Albuquerque for the weekend (my brother and his family live there). I have to work on Friday though so we won't leave until Sat morning. Then we will come home on Tuesday. DD isn't very thrilled about missing school on Tuesday, but one day won't kill her. I wonder what she is going to say about missing school for the cruise again..... My mom called me day before yesterday and said that my aunt, cousin and her family are driving up from Texas this weekend. I haven't seen them in a long time so I am a little sad to be missing them. They are supposed to get here Friday though so I emailed my cousin and told her they should come by here for dinner Friday night so we can at least see each other for a little bit. I haven't seen her in about 8 years and I haven't seen my aunt in 3 or 4 years.

We're supposed to be going to the beach with my parents and my siblings and their families. The hurricane might change our plans though.

I had an appt. yesterday and got to see the baby. She's about the size of my thumb. The doctor tried to get the heartbeat on doppler and couldn't find it. I was hoping for a sonogram anyway. You could see the tiny heart beating. It's so amazing.

Off to take DD to dance class...

uxidam, Wow that car looks nice.

Sharon, I'm glad the repairs are coming along for ya.

Susan: aww.

dutch_girl_scout: Around here Shawn is more common than Sean and Shaun. Sean always bothered me though because there is no h to make the sh sound. I always want to say it like seen.

cristi: Thats exciting that your DD actually enjoys going to school, I know too many kids that dread going to class. It saddens me because I was the same way as your DD.

Sadly no fun plans for the weekend here. I have a date with the design studio all day Saturday and Sunday to work on class stuff because sadly my homework for one class can only be done in one lab on campus. I under-estimated the work needed this term.

I claimed today as Mel shouldn't touch anything day. I almost broke the demostration robot by turning it too fast making all the blocks it was manipulating fly for my Industrial Robotics class, causing my TA and my lab partners to crack up since I was the first one to play with it. Then in Advanced CAD I crash the Unix Server while I was working in Pro/Engineering which isn't supposed to even be possible. At work every computer I dealt with after I clocked it decided to freeze.

I've been subpeoned to court as a witness because of work from something that happened last year with a fradualent charge card. Kinda not excited about that since I have to miss 2 days of classes.

I can't believe I have been lurking on my cruise thread. Things are going good here I guess. I am very busy as this is the first week of the fall semester.

I have planned, and now finally booked airfare, for a mommy and me trip to disney in october. My daughter has been bugging me to do this for a very long time. I relented. Between having annual passes and a dvc member, and getting dinged for the return leg of my trip, I couldn't resist to go ahead and book for my fall break from school. It will be a really cheap trip. Just the airfare for two (223), one night at the value (no more points), three nights on DVC, and the dining plan (150), less than 500 dollars for a trip for four nights and four days to disney. I just couldn't resist. I guess I should add this to my ticker. Look out below!!
