Tammy--Moms are entitled to naps anytime, at least that's what I think.
Stacie--I like the way you think!

I thought of a new one--"Jeet?" It is a question. :sunny: (I am guilty of this little southern shortcut question. :p )

Tammy, I know this one. Did you eat? I have heard and said that one. :)
I also figured the lime green would help Tammy find me. I actually had a DCL t-shirt on, but then changed right before we left.

Very good Christi!! By the way, when are you leaving for Disney?

Edited: Duh! It is in your signature....Never mind... Have a great time by the way. I am jealous...

Hey all!!

Cristi--I hadn't been paying attention at all, your'e going to be at WDW next week!!! I hope that you have a great time and mild tempatures.

Not much new here. We got baby furniture ordered. The place we ordered from takes 12-16 weeks! But it is REAL furniture. We had a crib from Sears for DS and DD. We were young and poor with DS so he had a cheap bedroom set until we moved six years ago, DD has my white bedroom set from when I was little. This baby is starting out with the good stuff. The kids finally got wallpaper picked out for the new house. We got a call from the realtor yesterday morning that the current owners were moving stuff and found all the carpet in the basement was wet. It rained over 4" here on Tuesday night. They think it came in under the walkout door, because theyv'e never had water before. They are having the carpet professionally cleaned and dryed. The trim and bottoms of the walls had soaked up some of the water so they also took off the baseboard trim so that the trim and walls could dry. Luckily the carpet doesn't have a pad underneath it so it should come out ok.

DS leaves tomorrow with his church youth group for the weekend to Kansas City. DD wants to go shopping for school supplies. Sounds like a plan to me, shopping with both kids right now sounds overwhelming.

Hope everyone has a good day!!

Four inches of rain...Boy, my poor yard would love that. I watered the lawn yesterday trying to make it rain, and it worked. But it only rained for two minutes or so. :confused3

I am going to my mom's this weekend, they have a list of things they want me to do. So, I will be busy. I can't wait for my son to start school, it will give me some free time.

My daughter seems to be adjusting to school but still has issues with not getting her work done in class and having to bring it home. She needs more of a sense of urgency with her school work. Any suggestions?

Stacie...
How are you adjusting to the idea of your new little one? I'm a bit overwhelmed that I will have an almost 7 year old and a new baby. I think yours are older. We still had dd's crib, so we'll use that. We'll have to get a new changing table and dresser. And we've got to find somewhere to put everything in the guest room closet that will become the baby's room.

Tammy...I don't have any advice for dd. She's only been in school a week, right? Maybe it will just take some time for adjusting.

Pink--My son was seven when my daughter was born, so I know what you mean, I was really upset at first, but the idea grew on me shortly. I couldn't imagine it any other way. My daughter had the same problem with her schoolwork last year. She take forever to do anything. Especially if she doesn't want to do it.

Today I lost my bank atm card! I called and they cancelled it, but I am so upset with myself. I can't believe I did that! Alls well that ends well.

If it makes you feel better I lose my atm card every month or two. I keep it in my back pocket at work and it has a habit of jumping out. My bank (its a small credit union from my hometown) already knows me by name.

Yearbook--that is interesting! Glad to know I am not alone.

As a side question--what did you do to get that tag? Just curious! :teeth:

After 2, its kinda ridiculus in a public place. Especially because it wasn't their party.

Its one thing if its in their place of residence with no people around. I'm even known to go around my apartment sans most clothes because well its summer and I hate being sticky in this icky heat. But in public its different.

Now I can excuse it if the kid gets sick and the parent just wants them out of the "sick" clothes. I was 6 driving up to North Carolina with my parents when well the stomach flu hit me. My parents had to pull to the side of the road and do some clean up. I gave all of I-95N that day a peep show.

How do you get tagged. You were tagged early. Not that many posts ;) Is it a random thing. I wish the tag fairy would tag me :goodvibes

Yeah...I wasn't expecting to get tag when I hadn't even been on the Dis for a month yet considering so many people haven't gotten one yet. I guess I was just lucky with my silly comment about a peep show. I'm grateful about that though.

Susan--I was in shock for awhile (at least a week) when I found out I was pregnant. My two are older, 11 and 14. The space issue was a huge concern for me (as my posts from March/April can tell you). We live in a three bedroom now with two kids, we just don't have a guest room, lots of stuff in the basement and crammed into closets. Basically, the top shelves of the kids' closets have our stuff on them, not theirs. Your daughter will be such a big help when baby comes. You won't have to deal with the terrible toddler stage and she can do a lot of things on her own, like get ready for school and stuff. It will all work out, but yes, I understand it being stressful to think about.

Tammy-My daughter was in 5th grade last year and had "study hall" the last 45 minutes of every day. Instead of doing her work, she thought it would be more fun to read or draw pictures. Then she came home every night with "homework" that should have gotten done in school. We allowed a 1/2 hour after school for relaxing then made her do her work, no TV or playing until it was done. We even made her miss soccer practice a couple times. She finally figured out that it was better to use the time in school for her work. Don't know if that would help or not. I've pulled a Melissa (yearbook) with my ATM card, after ordering a new one, I found it in the bottom of my laundry hamper, it had fallen out of my jeans pocket.

We got DD's school supplies today, and sent DS off with his church group. I started packing up my kitchen yesterday, how much Tupperware and 9x13 pans does one family need? I still have a few cupboards to go through but, I think I'll take it easy the rest of today.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Thanks Stacie. I went to get my initial blood work done today. My hcg level was 23,496. I don't think there is any doubt of my pregnancy. I'm feeling nauseous now and know I should eat something, but dd just asked for a snack and I told her it was too close to dinner time. How can I get myself a snack when I won't let her?

I have a cousin who lives nearby who has spent thousands on fertility stuff to have a second child. I feel so much guilt that I am pregnant and she is not. I know that she will be happy for us, but that it will hurt her as well.

Thankfully, we've never lost our ATM card. I would surely be in a panic if we did. I'm glad you discovered it early Tammy.

I like the tag too, yearbook. I see the TF left out that you were 6 at the time.

Susan--Saltine crackers are great "snacks" and won't fill your DD up. I have a friend who is going through the adoption process after trying everything to get pregnant. I let her hear about my pregnancy through the grapevine. I just didn't have the heart to tell her myself. She called me as soon as she heard the news and was like, "why didn't you tell me?" She is excited for us but I too feel guilty that I'm a fertile Myrtle and they can't have one.

Tomorrow is Girl Scout Service Unit training. YUCK!!! It is from 10-3, in Des Moines. I think there are seven of us going from my town, so at least we'll have a fun time on the way up and back. One time on our way to a meeting I got a speeding ticket. The state trooper asked why I was speeding and I told him "guess we were just having a good time." He didn't like that answer and made me go sit in his police car while he checked with dispatch about any outstanding warrants. I had five ladies and a baby in my mini-van, on my way to a Girl Scout meeting, what were the chances I had any outstanding warrants?? :confused3 Tomorrow I'll try to drive in a reasonably safe manner. :)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

At least you were honest with him.
Icky state troopers.

One more week til WDW!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: It is going to be a lot of fun! My nephew has never been before. For that matter I don't think my sister-in-law has been either. I can't wait. We went to Six Flags earlier in the week and I kept comparing everything to Disney. Not a good idea.... We had fun,but I kept thinking that I was glad that the kids tix were free and mine was half off.

Susan, you really should try to keep something in your stomach so the nausea isn't as bad. I was really sick with both of my kids. Sometimes it would help to chew peppermint gum to keep the nausea at bay. Of course that was after I was on medication for the nausea.

Stacie, try not to get a ticket this weekend.

Someone I work with was telling a story about getting stopped the other day. She still had her name tag on (we work for an infertility clinic). The officer saw the name tag and asked if she worked for Dr. Schoolcraft, she told him yes and he let her off with a warning. Turns out he and his wife had had infertility issues for years, then came to our clinic and got pregnant. :) I think I will just start wearing my nametag everywhere. :teeth:

Tammy, I don't know what to tell you about the school work issue. DS has that problem from time to time also. He had to stay in from recess a few times to get things finished. He wasn't happy with that. I am hoping that as he gets older he will learn to focus more on the work so he can finish when everyone else does.
