Early Breakfast Crystal Palace

Hi Everyone,

DH and I have an 8:05 am ADR for Crystal Palace in July. MK opens at 9 am that day. We will be staying at the BCV's.

1. What time does the MK bus begin for early breakfast ADR's? If you miss the first one, does another come soon after or is there a longer wait?

2. If I choose to take a cab instead of the bus, can the cab drop me at the MK (I think the answer to this is no)?

3. If I am right about the cab and MK, is it better to take the cab to the Contemporary and just walk over?

4. If I choose to go the bus route, should I tell the front desk about it or ask them the timing of the bus?

1. Buses start running by 6:30am, every morning. They run less frequently than regular buses do...sometimes 30 mins apart.

2. A cab can drop you at the CR...closest you're going to get. Can not go into the bus area of MK.

3. See above.

4. The front desk will have no idea as to bus times. Believe me...they are clueless.

For an 8:05am ADR at CP, I usually head out of BWVs no later than 6:50. Let's say the bus comes at 6:30. Great. The next MK bus could come as soon as 6:45 or as late as 7am....no way of telling. The runs aren't etched in stone. So, if you get there at 7, to see the MK rolling away, you may have to wait until 7:20-7:30 for the next bus. Yes, it may come sooner, but no way to know. And if the bus doesn't get there until 7:30, you're going to be cutting it close. It takes about 15-20 mins to get to MK from BC. The bus might stop at BW and S/D along the way..it may have already stopped there...again, no way of knowing. THen, you have to go through bag check, check in with a CM to get in early, then walk to the restaurant. And it's a shame to be rushed and miss the almost empty Main St area.
So...be out no later than 6:50ish....then you'll have lots of time on an empty Main St and get some great shots, without having to rush.

To the contemporary and walk from there. It's so much less stressful than waiting for a bus!

Leave the CR, walk past their bus stop area. You will see a sidewalk that pretty much runs beneath the monorail line. Follow this. Cross the street..using the walk button please. The sidewalk takes you past the CR parking lot, across a street, and to the side of MK. Takes under 10 mins to walk. Very nice walk.

We had an 8:10am Crystal Palace ADR on a day that the MK opened at 9:00am this past August. We stayed at All Star Music (which is probably a lot further from the MK then the Beach Club is) and we got to our resort bus stop at 7:15am. The MK bus came around 7:25am. We got off the bus at MK around 7:45am and had plenty of time to get in the park, take a couple nice photos in front of the castle, and be over at the Crystal Palace by 8am. The Crystal Palace cast members didn't start checking people with ADRs in until 8am.

Keep in mind...the buses don't come on a schedule. You should show up around 6:50 and hope the bus comes shortly...but one may have just left. No way of telling.

Lucky you!!!! I'm always the one that walks up to the stop just as my bus is leaving!!! The ride to MK from BC is about the same as from ASMusic...maybe a wee bit shorter. But not if the BC bus makes addtl stops along the way (BW, S/D possibly). Anyway...if you had missed that bus at 7:25, the next one may not have come along for 20+ mins....so now it's 7:45/7:50, and it's going to be a close call getting to the CP ontime...especially if you want those nice shots.
That's why I always recommend getting to the bus stop earlier than you would originally think. I'm glad it worked for you, but I still say better safe than sorry.

Yep. Our goal was to be at the bus stop by 7am, but that fell through . We didn't feel panicked though getting to the bus stop at 7:15am for our 8:10am ADR because I have to say the buses ran great at the All Stars, even early in the morning. That is what super impressed me. But I agree it is safer to stick with the recommended time you are supposed to allow for travel when using Disney transportation to get to ADRs.
