This is not budget related but I know someone here can answer my question!
I'm going to a Eagle Scout ceremony. Is it appropriate to get a card and put money in it? It's a friends son - I know this is a magor accomplishment but not sure what is the norm and if people give gifts at scout ceremonies.
Thanks for your help!

I always equate this to everyone on the DIS saying you should frame the wedding invite as a wedding gift for the couple. Unless you are super close relative, then just stuff a $20 bill in a dollar store congratulations card and be done with it. What is the ES supposed to do with 20 or 30 useless gifts with an eagle emblazoned on them? Most of the eagle scouts I know are soon to be college bound and a few bucks towards college dorm accessories is more useful than 20 pocket knives or some other useless eagle tchotchke, especially considering most scouts own at least 2 or 3 pocket knives.
) As a previous poster said, heading to college cost a lot of money and my son used it towards college.
