E-tickets and old Disney Passes

We have bought Disney E-tickets for our trip in November this year which I believe should be exchanged for a physical ticket/card/pass at the will call window when we arrive at the parks (we are staying offsite so will not be using Magic Bands). However, we each have old Disney cards/passes from a recent visit in February this year. These tickets are no longer valid but they are still showing as active in our MDE accounts. I have linked our new E-tickets to the same MDE account. Does this mean that we can use our old cards to enter the parks without having to visit the will call window to exchange the E-ticket for more cards.

Yes, you can use your old cards because they provide the direct link to your valid ticket data in your MDE account.

This surprises me. I have all sorts of old tickets showing as active but are expired. I never would have thought I could use them for entrance or FP.

A hard, plastic ticket functions as a MB. It can't be transferred away from the MDE Profile/line and provides the link to whatever data exists in that Profile.

If you have too many active tickets or magic bands they can cause problems. It is best to deactivate all the old bands and tickets that you don't want to use for your current trip. When we go, I'll just activate the one or two colored bands I want to bring.

What kind of problems, if you don't mind me asking? Also, if I did deactivate them can I activate them again at some point?

We had problems getting into the pool at Poly with our mb. The front desk checked our account and mentioned the amount of active bands and deactivated most of them, no problems after that. She said the computer system is very old and just can't seem to keep up with what is required now. You can go to My Disney Experience and switch back and forth. They all show up and say whether they're active or not.

It appears to be more of a problem within the resort system: doors, pool access. As an offsite guest, you'll be okay.

That's just their go-to excuse. You have to make sure you've used that particular band on the room's door before it will work for any other resort amenities, like the pool or parking gate.

One of the early Space Shuttle astronauts described the ride as "a real E-ticket". We all knew what that meant.
