E-Stop

I was reading in another thread and a castmember mentioned that they e-stopped a ride. What exactly does this mean? They made it sound like it was more than a temporary shut down.

E-stop stands for emergency stop. It is not really an emergency, in most cases, but a stop where you have to evacuate everyone from the ride, meaning you walk them off the ride.

There are other types of stops. The most common is a station stop when the ride is stopped temporarily and then started back up without anyone having to unload from the ride.
