DxDDP Credit Sharing Still a Thing?

I realize this topic has been discussed probably a million times on here but I could not find any recent reports....apologize in advance if this is beating a dead horse.

We are planning on a trip next year and will be 2 families in 2 separate rooms. One will have 4 Disney adults (2 kids ages 15 & 10) and the other 2 Adults & 2 kids (ages 7 for both). The DDP is so much food so we are considering the following:

Room One (4 Disney Adults)

Room Only for 6 nights (we all have AP's)

Room Two (2 Adults, 2 Kids)

Package for 6 Nights (Room, Tickets, DxDDP)

So we would have one room with the dining plan and the other without. The room with would have a total of 72 dining credits. Could we share the credits and essentially get 9 TS meals for our party of 8 of 6A, 2C? I understand that the adults in the room with the dining attached would have to authorize the usage of the credits, but I'm wanting to make sure this is a valid thing and okay to do. So I want to make sure that (1) our party of 8 could pay for a TS meal using 8 credits when it only shows 4 on that reservation and (2) that all 72 would be pooled together (for TS purposes only no QS usage) and not split up as 36 Adult and 36 Child. We are essentially wanting to get 9 TS meals out of this and have each one of those transactions include 6A and 2C credits each time.

If this is doable then we would split the cost of the DxDDP between the 8 of us instead of each getting the DDP as we have found time and again for our family of 4 that the DDP is way too much food!

Edited to add that we would fill in the rest of the meals as QS OOP sharing meals.

Thanks everyone :goodvibes

Awesome thank you!

However, I would stay tuned here to see if any changes do occur. Next year is a long time away. The brochures still state that kids must order from the kid's menu, so restaurants can make that a hard and fast rule any time they want to. Since you will have 2 kids who are on the plan and 2 kids getting kid's meal each time you dine, you should be okay.

I was just thinking about that for our Dec 2017 trip. Is that something that you can do with the regular dining plan?

No doubt and Disney is notorious able changing things.

you can pool credits with the regular dining plan HOWEVER the main difference is that currently in the DxDDP, credits are not differentiated between kids and adults or QS and TS - so if you have 72 dining credits and 36 of them are kid dining credits but you sit down at a meal that is 3/4 adults and not half kids, you can game the system by paying for adult meals with kid credits (same way you can with QS credits under the regular DDP). The only rule right now is that kids who are eating with you have to order off the kid's menu... and even that is selectively enforced at the moment.

With the regular DDP they differentiate between TS and QS credits and between kid and adult on the TS credits... so if you do this you will end up with kid credits left because only the kids will be able to use the kid credits on kid meals. QS credits can be used for either kid or adult meals.
