Brook lives in LA and I think she has a stable hubby or boyfriend(not sure which one) to watch the kids and she could see them at night. I don't think Kate will be flying back to PA each night to see her beloved kids. Also Brook doesn't seem like a media (you know what). To me that makes a difference, maybe it shouldn't but it does. Maybe Kate should move her kids to LA, I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it then.

I find it amazing that people think THEIR opinion matters in situations like this. Kate is a tv personality- this is her job now- nobody bashes Angelina for going to do a movie.

Love her or hate her- doesn't matter to her. She's supporting her family. I'd prefer to see Jon on DWTS though........

I don't think my opinion matters, but that is what this discussion is about. I guess if we didn't have opinions then we wouldn't be here now would we. I think people have a problem with kate because of her attitude, pure and simple. There are other people that I am sure I would not want to watch on this show. Kate is famous for being famous, much like Paris Hilton, no real redeeming qualities, to make her famous just famous for the sake of it.

Like someone else brought up though- no hospital is going to hire her. Too much of a 3 ring circus and drama would come along with her.

So someone wants to pay her to be on tv- to be herself, or dance or give an opinion on subjects- what is wrong with that? What makes THAT wrong? You don't like her- understandable, many find her unlikeable but there is NOTHING wrong with her making a living and supporting her LARGE family. Her loser ex husband sure isn't gonna do it.

I'm sure you're being facetious. Obviously the point is that Kate would never be considered a celebrity (or demi-celebrity!) if she didn't have sextuplets. There wouldn't have been a J&K+8 show and we'd never have heard of her. Now, I wonder how she'll do on DWTS? Has anyone ever seen her dance? I'll bet my paycheck that having her on will boost ratings for ABC big time!

I don't see what the big deal is. She's famous (or infamous). Public allows all kinds for all reasons into that category.

So what? She's been asked to do DWTS. They have all kinds on there. Some people get famous for hitting a ball with bat, some people for "singing" even though they have little to no talent, some people act in shows and movies and get paid more money that knowledgable, trained doctors, for heaven's sake. She was asked to do a show for TLC about her family and she was a shrew. People watched. Heck, howard Stern is famous for being a blow hard with a foul, vulgar mouth. Some love him, some hate him. But, he is known and famous.
I just do not see what the big deal is. Pam Anderson is famous for looking like a hoochy mama and all her parts are fake even. But she's famous and therefore the show asked her to be on it. They get rating and they're happy. That's all that matters to them.

I remember seeing kate and Jon slow dance at their vow renewal. I don't think she's got much going for her already so she'll have a lot to learn. I believe she was a cheerleader so she has some coordination.

I'll probably watch actually. I remember when they had Jerry Springer on and I don't like his show or that type of show. But, I remember seeing him on the show allowed me to see he wasn't all bad.

Hey Buckelew, I remember you from the J&K thread! I'm planning to watch and like I said, I'm sure she'll draw huge ratings for ABC. I think it will add excitement and drama with Kate on. Sometimes I'm always like this when I hear about a certain celebrity on DWTS because I've never even heard of them! So, IMO Kate is pretty well known so she's probably considered a step above the b-listers who usually do the show!

I don't think you have to be in LA all week to be on DWTS. I know other contestants flew back & forth.

Brook has an ex husband & the new husband is an actor too that can help her out.

You don't have to live in LA, but it sure makes it easier to see your kids. I am sure that there were other contestants that flew back and forth, but I don't know if they had partners to help them out. Hopefully Jon will be there, if not I guess her "not a nannies" will be there.

She did mention in an interview right after the split she would like to be on DWTS... I hope they didn't take her seriously.
