DWTS & Kate Gosselin

Wouldn't that be a huge time commitment away from the kids? I just don't understand that woman. How is that for the kids? Because everything she does is for the kids, ya know:rolleyes1

Based on the comments here I think it's obvious she would be the perfect fit for the show. When it comes to her people either love her or hate her and in the networks eyes they don't care because either way people will watch, to see her fail or succeed based on the personal opinion of her.

To me that means in all likelyhood she's in.

I agree with you...:thumbsup2

She seems like a good fit to the show to me. The line-up is all sorts of people trying to reinvent themselves and get a bit more out of their 15 minutes of fame.

Well, my job is a huge time commitment (50 hours of week) that takes me away from my kid, but necessary to support my family. So while this is obviously very different, it is a job and a means for her to support her family, just untraditional. Lots of other contestants have been mothers and managed just fine, so I don't think that is a huge issue.

I do think the logistics may ultimately prove to be an issue since the show is in California and she is in PA. I would assume she would commute back and forth for the show and do her training in PA. Again lots of others have done that in past seasons (ie the soap stars who worked in NYC) so not unusual. But if Jon has the kids on show days and she is back in PA training while they are in school on non-show days I don't think it is really that big of a deal and not that much different than most working mom's schedules :confused3

Just be thankful the rumor isn't about Octomom :scared1:
ETA: Disneydiva we had the same thought at the same time, LOL!

Actually, I'd be in favor of Octomom dancing to support her family. I'm really annoyed at the notion she has been able to make the choices she's made while on public assistance. A DWTS paycheck for her might mean regular folk working to support their families and hers can have a little jingle in their pocket for a change.

So does this mean that Kate is DWTS's shark?

Blech...you see, this is why my hopes of people like Biily Crystal, Barbara Eden, Gladys Knight etc., will never happen. The show continues to go by the way of Jerry Springer....:sad2:

It seems like a really bad idea to be going back and forth from PA to LA every week when at the end of J&K+8 all she talked about was the trauma the kids were going through from the divorce. Kate has always made her priorities clear, though. :confused3

There have plenty of other mothers on there and no one has said a thing. Is it just because it's Kate we bring up the time commitment? Just another reason to bash her

Any other moms have 8 kids? She is under such scrutiny...i think she'd be foolish for going on the show.

Not at all unusual for Kate to voice a very strong opinion on something and then change it or rationalize it later on to suit her needs at that time..

She's been out of the spotlight for too long now and I think she's grasping at straws because she's still convinced that she has "star" potential and can't accept the fact that she "might" actually have to live within normal means - like many, many other large families do..

Having said that, as long as the children are safe, well-cared for, have a parent in close proximity the majority of the time, and are NOT put out there in front of the cameras again, I really don't care "what" her career is - or Jon's - or how foolish either of them look in their attempts to chase after fame and fortune..

Gosh - what a train wreck they turned out to be..:sad2:

Yes, Marie Osmond Donny Osmond. I think Jane Seymore has quite a few kids.

I think Marie's and Jane's kid are much older. Also I don't believe that they live cross country. Not sure if Jane has a house here or not. Also they haven't been through what Kate's kids have been through lately.

Also, for me, I believe that Kate is in it for herself, she claims the kids. My personal belief is that she saw the kids(once they were here) as an opportunity to become a celeb, even if it is in her own silly mind.

I liked Kate at one time, I really did. I have been watching the old reruns and have really picked up on some petty stuff from her.

For the record, I am no fan of Jon's either.

i'm still reeling about pamela anderson. i do NOT need to see her in skimpy costumes. she dresses bad enough on her own. but i don't need to see it on my tv screen. yuck.
Agreed! I'd take Kate over Pam ANY DAY.
