DVC X RunDisney

I was originally planning on a "rest" year for Marathon Weekend and was going to do 10K+Half. At 11 months I booked a CCV DS w/ Walk-In Shower because I prefer a higher floor and could get by without any Epsom soaks and/or ice baths at that total distance. As soon as I saw the Goofy theme, I immediately waitlisted the CCV DS Studio as I will definitely need to do Epsom soak and ice baths with the marathon added in. Luckily, the waitlist has already come through as well as getting a Goofy bib on Tuesday.

(Yes. I should have just done Dopey for a 7th time, but I already had a 10K bib lined up through charity with fundraising completed. So out of pocket was less getting Goofy during general reg. So a 45.5 mile Goofy+ it is lol)

I said I wasn’t going to again……but I registered for the marathon. We usually stay at BRV for MW but this year we’re booked at my other favorite, RIV!
Silly me totally spaced on the 11 month marker for MW, so we have the Friday before and Sunday after the marathon booked at RIV, with a waitlist for Sat night in the middle 😬

DVC x runDisney dilemma:

My husband and I are running Marathon weekend. We booked a CCV studio with points.

We are running with friends from around the country and through the PPMD charity. The charity has a block of rooms at Pop Century for $207/night. We’d love to be with the group at the hotel, and that seems like a good price/opportunity to bank points.

But no hot tub. No lodge lobby. No toaster oven.

What would you do?

I’d bank the points and stay near friends - the fact that it’s only $207 sweetens the deal!

I’d go with the group … the memories with them could be better

Yes, this is definitely how we are leaning. What use is a hot tub if your friends are across property, right?
