On my trip to SSR last month (it was my first trip home), I had to call the front desk and request a character wake-up call. They didn't have the automated system that I'm used to using.

Is is this way at all DVC resorts?

We had character walk ups at both BCV and BWV in August.

Was the system automated, or did you have to call the front desk?

Apparently at SSR, for ANY wake up call, you have to call the front desk. When I called, I asked if it would be a person calling live time, or a character calling. They asked if I wanted the character wake up call, and I said yes.

At the BWV in Oct., my wake-up call was just the ringing of the phone--not even a grunt when I answered it.

All my wake-up calls at BWV last week were Stitch screaming in my ear. I would hold the phone away from my ear, and my friend who was over on the pull-out couch could hear him. NOT the most pleasant thing to wake up to. If there is any way to request a specific character for your wake-up call - do it.

Still Stitch!? He's so grumpy!
But I've always had character wake-up calls at OKW, BCV, and even HHI!

It's been a while since I've done wake up calls at OKW, but when I did it was the automated system. I'm wondering if there is a glitch (or Stitch ;) ) in SSRs phone system.

We got Stitch in Sept at the BCV as well. I was really hoping for something new maybe mentioning the 50th celebration, but seems like Stitch is still in charge.

We experienced the same thing at SSR - a live person taking the time for the wake up call. At OKW and BW (the only other DVC resorts we've stayed at) there was an automated system.

ME TOO !!!!

How horrid his voice @ 6 AM... :crazy2: :crazy2:

Couldn't even let the kids listen..Who's idea was that?? :scared1: :scared1:

Is it odd that after many many WDW trips and 4 Disney cruises, I've never had a character wake up call???

I found this list on the Resorts board a couple of months ago:

7:00 Stitch
7:01 Mickey
7:02 Minnie
7:03 Goofy
7:04 Donald
7:05 Chip
7:06 Dale
7:07 Cinderella
7:08 and on Mickey

I don't know who you get if your wake up call is before 7:00 am.

Thanks! I assume since most people ask for a time on the hour or half hour, maybe that's why we keep hearing Stitch.

we'll be there 7 days so I'll make sure we pick 7 different wake-up times :)

I didn't care for Stitch screaming in my ear either last week! Mickey woke us up on the cruise.

Boy, I hope that's true now! Because I've always gotten a wake-up call at an "odd" time, don't remember why, but I know there was some reason I read once. Like 7:03 instead of 7:00. But alas, I've always gotten Stitch :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

We were just at SSR 2 weeks ago and did a wake up call. The set up was still through an actual person but we did recieve a character call. It was set up for 7am and it was Mickey! :earboy2:

Don't need a wake up call for me . :Pinkbounc

Next time try waiting on the line for a while. I was surprised by how long it seemed to take for the "character" to actually start talking. Half of my trip I missed the message because I hung up too early.
