DF and I are going to Disney for the first time together in April and we are so excited to see the WP and get engagement photos while were there too! I had thought about renting points for DVC back in October because I really wanted to stay at Bay Lake but decided against it because it would have been really expensive with the number of points need for Easter time and everyone wanted $10-11/point. So I was talking to my Dad about how disappointed I was about not staying at Bay Lake the other day, and he offered to rent me the points for only $7 each! I was so excited! I have the best Dad! I hadnt asked him before because he goes to Disney alot and I didnt want to take away his points haha. So then I call to book and there is nothing available anymore! No studios at Bay Lake, in fact no studios at any DVC resort for that time! I am just so heartbroken now, especially since my Dad's home resort is Bay Lake and we could have booked this last April! So now we are on a waiting list, but Im afraid it might be hopeless given that it is Easter time and I am just so sad! Anyone have any experience being on one of these waitlists, or know how likely is it that we'll get off? We have a room booked at Pop in the meantime, and I have thought about switching to POR because the grounds are really pretty but the rooms look kind of run down there from the pictures Ive seen so Im not sure its worth the upgrade? Anyways, I am still excited of course but just bummed about missing out, any advice about the waitlist would be appreciated though! Thanks

Sometimes they work, but sorry to say usually not this close to the time period. Keep calling, if they get a cancellation and you call before the wait list is processed for that day you can get the booking.

Good luck but yes with DVC, 7 months for busy times is even hard now. Lots of members.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry. Everything I've heard about the wait list seems like it doesn't always work so well, but during Easter it's even more unlikely. Good Luck! I hope you get it. Let us know how it all works out.:thumbsup2

I'm not familiar with DVC at all, but I hope you get it! We stayed at CSR for a day last June and the resort was really pretty and those rooms have just been redone. It would probably cost you the same as POR.

Have you checked the room only rate specials on Disney's site?

I'm sorry about the waitlist.

I would switch to POFQ. I think that resort is very romantic, as it is right along the river and has cute cobblestone streets as well as the horse and carriage rides. It is definitely more romantic than POP.

Thanks for your advice everyone. We upgraded to Port Orleans French Quarter today in a king room! So I wont be as dissappointed if we don't get off the waiting list! Thanks again
Marissa

You will love it! Like I said, it's very romantic. We are DVC owners as well and I've stayed at almost all the Disney resorts. I would say that POFQ is defintely MORE romantic than CR would be. Having the king room makes it even better. Walk around the resort at night or in the early morning; take the boat to DTD at sunset time; share some beignets and listen to the live music they have in the lobby at night. You will love it. Have fun!
