DVC studios - fewer amenities

I'm really having trouble thinking of an explanation for your peculiar combination of incomprehensible "sentences," internet acronyms, rudeness, and DVC ownership.

I believe you're just a simple troll, but one who can't successfully string three words together. Unique, if nothing else.

Someone here posted on a post about someone whom fell at BCV they said they get a lawer ..

It's a symptom of the degradation of DVC should give you a hint..:rotfl:

Now I was tring to keep within the rules:banana:

Just dawned on them after 15 years there wasn't a dishwasher in those rooms, huh? I love when they do things for my best interest. I always end up on top.

After they're done lying, I'm guessing they might rethink this decision. I don't think they realized what they were creating.

Damn someone must have put a claim in for poisoning due to a dirty glass or mug..

Now this could be close to the truth, or what DVC is worried about. I say let them sanitize the mugs and glasses and leave the rest to us during our stay.

Gross misunderstanding on DVC's part on how differently members use their units vs. hotel guests, IMO. I love the "lack of dishwashing equipment" statement. Gee, I wonder how the millions of Americans who don't have a dishwasher can manage to get by; they must all use disposable dishes, utensils and cups. Can't imagine that any of them might just use soap, water, sponge and two hands.

Please return this thread to the topic of mugs and glasses in DVC Studios.

OK the last I remember the studios are part of the Two Bedroom at BWV! So in my opinion I think they should still have glasses and mugs!

You are right they are lock offs if they are not present you just have to ask for them.

They will be provided in that case. If you are in only a studio they will be removed.

A very good point that was just brought up..

All OKW studios are lockoffs, and there were reports of not being able to get mugs upon request.

There are no dedicated studios at OKW.

I think what's meant there is if you BOOKED the room as a studio, no mugs, no glassware.

If you booked it as part of a 2 bedroom, no problem, since that magic dishwasher is present. Not sure if they'll put stuff in the studio area of a 2 bedroom before you check in, or if you'll have to carry them in from the kitchen.

Not sure what the deal would be with requesting - would housekeeping know what sort of room they were delivering to? Are they required to check and see if the people in the studio side have access to the 1 bedroom side before allowing them to have any glassware? Interesting.

That is really stupid that everytime someone books it as 2 bedroom they have to keep replacing the mugs and glasses in the studio! I can see that being a pain! :coffee: :drinking1 JUST LEAVE THEM THERE!!!

We do not eat in the studio side it is normal where we house the children so the adults do not disturb them at night..

So It will not be a huge issue for us.

I doubt they'll put them into the studio if it is booked as a two bedroom, they probably just have service for 8 in the one bedroom section.

still VERY curious as to when they will start removing glassware from the other resorts - looks like it's coming.

Sorry. I should have said that housekeeping was not permitted to deliver mugs and glasses to our studio, not that we couldn't bring our own. We stayed at a studio at SS in January and had not only mugs and glasses, but also 2 wine glasses and a corkskrew.

I don't think they will remove the glassware from the other resorts, or they would have done it already.

My guess is that the other resorts already had the infrastructure to replace the glassware daily by putting them through a commercial dishwasher. I remember seeing the "carts" of glasses in deluxe resorts.

The DVC resorts did not have the same infrastructure, since the 1, 2 and 3 BR units had dishwashers, and the studios had a wetbar, where people did a hand wash. So, there isn't a system in place to remove the glasses and mugs from the rooms and send them to a central commercial dishwasher.

IMO, there has to be a better way to handle this than to just make a unilateral decision to punish members by removing glasses and mugs from studios because housekeeping isn't trusted to wash them properly.

I know I'll be throwing some plastic glassware in my suitcase. A Pleasure Island tumbler should work fine.

That's cheaper than an Owners Locker.

AKV, BWV and BCV no doubt have the infrastructure. I'm betting they thought limiting it to just OKW and SSR would cause an even bigger stink.

Because I had a sink and soap, it sounds to me like they don't trust ME to wash anything properly. I don't need WDW worrying about my health. (Oh, if you bring your own stuff, you have to bring your own soap, too, and putting liquid soap in my suitcase is out...do they have travel sizes of dishwasher soap?)

No dishwashers so no mugs? That's interesting. I've never stayed in the Grand Floridian. I never knew those de-luxe rooms each had their own dishwasher.

At OKW, there is already a warning in the rooms that the dishes are not sanitized to some specification. Don't recall the exact verbage. Why can't Disney change it in the studios to say something similar, that the dishes should be re-washed or whatever?

You know, Dborges, you asked about Kingdom Tower.. Frankly if they never build it or never turn it over to DVC it wouldn't bother me. I have no intention of buying there, and probably will never stay there. But I am not the only member of the DVC. Plus, I didn't buy at Kindgom Tower, I bought at OKW where the studios had glassware in the models when I toured them 16 years ago, and they have been available in the room for the last 16 years.

We know you don't care about the glasses, we know you only stay in 1 bedrooms or larger. It doesn't affect you, we get that. But it does affect some, and really if you look at the larger picture, it does affect every member when the management company decides to do things to the owners "Leased" resort that aren't wanted or asked for. Today it's mugs, yesterday it was plates and towels. Who knows what it will be tomorrow. Maybe take away the ability to book at other resorts. Or some other feature that was sold either implicitly or explicitly. Honestly, I don't stay in studios very often either, but this is very disconcerting to me.

Ultimately, people here have a right to be concerned about this, and if this is such a moot point to you, you can simply ignore this thread. Can't you?
