DVC studios - fewer amenities

Since getting home I went ahead and sent off my e-mail as well. This was my response:

We did get dish soap and a sponge at Old Key West in a studio but the dishwashing liquid was very watery... not sure if water was added or if it's just the formula. However, I did find it kind of odd that it was opened when neither my husband nor I touched it.

I grabbed it and stuffed it in our Owner's Locker so we can still wash our own mugs in the studios. I have a fear that it's going to take so much more than just a few e-mails to change this policy. :guilty:

29 pages on cups? Wat will happen if they change something important?

How about the "Welcome Home Wednesdays?" I've never been, but was planning to go April 30th. Is there chance for any input?

Maybe while you are there, you might want to get a large shopping bag out and stock up on the styrofoam and paper cups they put out for the beverages...that might drive the point home :)

If you had read all the posts you would understand that this is important to many of us. It's a symptom of the degradation of DVC as a whole. As it appears you are a brand new member, that should concern you.

It has no bearing on if your a new member or old one .

It is just a way for somepoeple to bash DVC for doing something right.

Just like the thread here on DVC and Disney has the dirtest rooms.

I agree with this 29 pages on Glasses and Cups I wonder what will happen when the announce that Kingdow towers will not happen.

Checked into OKW studio March 2. There were dirty mugs and glasses setting in a washbasket outside of our room, but there were no mugs or glasses in our studio. I called housekeeping to request mugs and glasses and was told that studios didn't get them. I told her, "but the previous guests had them, because their dirty ones are still setting outside of our door". She said "OK, I'll bring you 2 of each". When she arrived, she had more styrofoam cups and told us that we were not permitted to have mugs and glasses. So, after looking at your picture, maybe they have already decided to reverse their policy.

Not permitted to have them??? :sad2:

it's an absolute miracle the market isn't flooded with all the folks selling off their dirty, styrofoam infested time share interests.

I don't understand how DVC has stayed in business.

My family and I stayed in a Value AKV studio in Jan and we had mugs... we moved to a Savannah View Studio and we still had mugs for coffee...
Was this a recent change?

See, you're being disrespectful again. We are not just "bashing DVC for doing something right" when we don't believe it is right to begin with! You are completely disrespecting our opinions and feelings and I certainly think you should take a few steps back and realize that it's not something that you agree with and walk away.

Truth hurt though!!:lmao:

well, it's out now. You are not permitted to have mugs or glasses in studios because you don't have an electric dishwasher. And you might not be able to use the soap in your sink to wash them properly. And you might get sick. And you might blame DVC and sue them.

Probably going to save Disney a fortune in legal fees. :rolleyes1

Our last stay at BCV Villa-Studio was for 11 days, we love coffee, and given the new disposable plan, we could easily use up a sleeve of cups. I dont mind rolling up my sleeves and washing out my cup. I really dont want to be bothered upon checking having to call House Keeping and asking for some basic supplies(Ceramic Cups, sponge and Soap). Seems like we bother them enough during our stay, so now we add more room deliveries for "styrofoam cups". Taking away their time that should be dedicated to cleaning... some how I just dont see how this is a savings. Hope they decide to rethink the plan and be more flexible.

It seems from one of the former posts that if you call housekeeping from a studio and ask for glasses or mugs, you will not get them. You are not permitted to have glasses or mugs in a studio.

I wonder...if you order room service at AKV will you get plates and glasses then? Will they let you keep a mug from your breakfast order, or will they insist on removing it because you can't have one in your room?

I think the new policy went into effect March 2nd. That seems to be the date on the "contents list" in the studios.

Just a hunch, but if you didn't post on this thread the post number on here would be much lower than 29 pages. So your issue with this thread being this long is???

Naa they would have had someone else to feed them.

Once a negitive feeling goes it grows like wild fire here

Have too post this again in case someone missed it..

Disney Vacation Club spokesperson Diane Hancock confirmed for AllEars® that the studio villas no longer have glassware or ceramic mugs for use and have now switched to disposables. "Because dishwashing equipment is not available in the studios, we feel this is the best option for our members and guests," said Hancock. And without the glassware, dishwashing soap will no longer be provided for the Studios. This change does not affect the one-, two- and three-bedroom villas.

Yep there it is !

I'm really having trouble thinking of an explanation for your peculiar combination of incomprehensible "sentences," internet acronyms, rudeness, and DVC ownership.

I believe you're just a simple troll, but one who can't successfully string three words together. Unique, if nothing else.

Just dawned on them after 15 years there wasn't a dishwasher in those rooms, huh? I love when they do things for my best interest. I always end up on top.

After they're done lying, I'm guessing they might rethink this decision. I don't think they realized what they were creating.
