Good questions... I was just posing it as a possible solution. Not sure of the legalities and such. I think most owners would appreciate that as a solution.Something I suggested on another thread. But can they, legally? And what about those that lost 2 years of points, like myself?
This might not be possible unless they extend the ground leases (on all resorts) with TWDC. At the end of each resorts ground lease, control over the building reverts to the resort division and would no longer be a DVC resort. What if DVC added one year extension to everyone's deed. Would that solve the problem with people losing the use of their 2019 points??
Curious what others think?
I think I also read this one .....What about opening up RIV all the way and possibly add some of the moderates for point stays?
I would be happy with getting the MF value of my lost points in credits towards tickets.

That makes sense to me. Honestly, there is no perfect solution.. and whatever is decided, not everyone is going to be happy. It is an uncertain time and no one could have planned for all of this. Most important thing is to keep people as safe as possible. Material things truly are not that important at times like this.I saw another posting elsewhere that said they talked to a higher up and that any solution has to involve something related to real estate as this is a real estate issue,
So it does not appear things like tickets, etc, would be a legal way around this,
I think the ability for individuals to choose the remedy that fits them best would go a long way in improving satisfaction.
It might work out if DVC gave those out points a few options to choose from, say get 50% of their dues back on unusable points, or be able to use the lost points in some set time frame in the future (dues already paid), or Disney stepping in to offer a decent percentage off APs, etc. I don't know enough to give precise options, but something along those lines.
