DVC/Saratoga Room Card Spending Limit ???

Hey Everyone! My DH and I will be staying at Saratoga Springs in October (38 more days) and have decided that we are going to put everything on our room key while in the parks. I read on some other threads that it depends where you stay for the spending limit you can receive. What limits have you all had while staying on DVC property?! Please advise, THANKS!

The limitation may be affected by the limits on your credit card. We usually have a $1500 limit at any of the WDW resorts- but what that really means is that once your charges reach that amount, the card is charged and another limit (same amount) is activated. If you don't reach the limit prior to your checkout date, the amount charged will be applied on that day.

They will offer to limit the amount that may be charged.
For example if you have a child.You may want to let them charge some items(lunch,drinks)but do not want them to be able to buy everything in sight.

We were just there, and like Doc said, the limit we had was $1500. And yes, as soon as you hit $1500 they charge your card and then start a whole new $1500 limit. I don't know that it has anything to do with which resort you're at though. When I stayed at CBR I had the same limit. I don't own DVC, my parents do. So, it's not like the DVC travels with my name unless I am staying with them on points (like May-but not at CBR).

I believe the $1,500 is WDW'd policy to manage their cash flow. They want to turn it over at that point, get paid, and make sure they can reserve an additional $1,500 of your card's available credit.

We just returned from a three week trip to WDW and can confirm that the room card spending limit is tied to the resort. BCV and OKW was $1500 and All Stars and Pop Century just $500.

We've had a $1500 limit at SSR. I believe we had the same at the WL. I've not gone over that, so I have no experience with what they do. I've wondered though so it's good to know that they'd just charge me that amount and reopen the credit limit. If I was there for even one more day, I think we definitely would have hit the $1500 limit and gone over.

We had our son's birthday party put on our room charge (over $300.00) plus all our souvie's etc. We didn't go over that amount so I can assume the other posters are correct, they just restart the $1500.
