Does anyone have an idea as to when the sales team is reopening? All I get is automated responses when I email directly.

I had been told several weeks ago when I asked Member Services that it would reopen when the parks reopen. This was before the opening dates were announced, though, so I don't know if they might consider reopening when the resorts do. I'm really hoping it will reopen before July 17th!

Still nothing. I live chatted with members services and it seems clear they’ve been told to avoid the question. All they would say is ‘nothing known yet’ Surely this is a part of DVC that could easily operate from home workers. It’s nothing more than clerical work that could be done on a laptop at home. Why the sales team was required to close completely makes no sense to me at all. I’m wondering if they are purposely trying to avoid selling new contracts to try and counter the massive surplus of existing members points thats is going to saturate the system once bookings reopen. Either way, continuing lack of sales on top of almost 4 months of zero sales really does boggle the mind! Does anyone know if any resale contracts have been ROFR’d during lockdown?

They are open somewhat. Go to the new add-on tool on the dvc member page and put in a request for contact. It took about 1.5 days but they did call

I was corresponding via email directly with a sales agent prior to lockdown. All I get now are ‘out of office’ automated responses when I send an email. I was just a few steps away from finalising a purchase but now it seems to be on permanent hold. There might well be a means of contact but there are no active sales staff in work presently.

If you live chat with them on the DVC page they can have one of the Supposedly 18 active guides out of 132 that have been brought back. Thats what I did.

Not a single contract has been ROFR'd during the lockdown.

I’ll give it a try. Now I’ve got to wait 75 minutes until they open! Thanks.
They are open, but the number of available agents is small. My Sales Guide is working. I can PM you his info if you want. He just sold me CCV, two Studio Guaranteed Week contracts with the current incentives.

Yup - short staffed but open - just bought our first contract today.... well put down payment and started the 3-week process. But yes - very cool you get instant access to your account and points so you can start dreaming and scheming :-).
Congrats, and welcome home!! Where did you buy?

I am @UrsulaWantsYourSoul's DH. We bought at Riviera. We looked into DVC during our WDW trip in 2008, but could not afford it at the time. We have a friend who is a DVC member and because of her we started looking into it again. We started at the beginning of June. Let' say we started at 250 points originally, but because of incentives, etc. We ended up with 400. As DH says it is a way to ward of addontis for a bit.

What he said! I think we can do some serious damage with 400 points (direct) even with high points charts at Riviera. We live on the West coast so snagging DGC will eat up a ton of points so there's that (and yes, expect waitlist will be a reality there often). I have a good feeling we will be buying either Disneyland DVC's new tower (direct) when it opens or DGC resale (or both - sssh don't tell DH @JavaDuck. He won't read this post, right?) 😜

I had heard the sales office is open and they are offering a pretty good deal on direct, including CCV. Can anyone confirm?

Just to add a small piece of info. I was told by our current sales guide (not our normally assigned guide) that they have only 8 of their normal 125 guides at work. The most senior where called back and that they are only allowed in the office for 8 hours a day and the office must be empty by 4:30 each day. We added 100 points as well (Old Key West) and have also started the closing process.

I got my add-on! Very happy. Thanks Lorana, Bill didn’t help me directly but was able to put me in touch with an agent that could! 👍
