DVC-related first night traditions?

On our way back to OKW we divert to KRISPY KREME to pick up a couple dozen fresh donuts. There is nothing like eating one of those when they are hot!!! That is when we know we are really on vacation.

Guess what we have for breakfast??

I'm with melk. We explore the resort, swim, and soak it all in. When we stayed at BWI, we ordered room service. At SSR in June, we'll get delivery to our villa. Can't wait!

My DW and I head down to the Gurgling Suitcase our first evening and order up some blended margaritas. Doesn't get any better than that!

Like Terry S, we usually get there late on a Firday and stay offworld to save those weekend points! So, our tradition is to check into whatever modestly priced hotel and then head over to Sonic Burger for dinner because we don't have Sonic Burgers in the Northeast

Hey, there's a couple of varieties of Krispy Kreme's on the breakfast buffet at the Cape May, so we just go there instead of driving all the way to Kissimee

This last trip we did something that I think will be a tradition, we strolled from BWV into Epcot and ate! Possibly we won't bother with Epcot every year, but Beaches and Cream or Spoodles. We tend to leave pretty early Saturday morning, and are starving having only had airport food when we arrive.

Then we do very light touring, and head back to the resort early.

(Sometimes I think I'm the only human being in the world that doesn't "get" Krispy Kremes. I personally think they taste like warm shortening and sugar. Warm butter and sugar I could probably get into. My husband did the whole "well you haven't tried them warm" and took me through the drive through the other night - more gross hot than room temperture. Now mini donuts.....).

We also head out to shop for food, always at Publix. It seems that we are beginning a tradition by having our first dinner at Artist's Point. DH really needs his fish-in this case, salmon! (And truthfully, when anyone else cooks, it MUST taste better than if I do!!!!) I also put all our clothes in the drawers and hang some in the closets. The more we go to VWL or BCV, I'm sure that we'll develop more and more traditions associated with "Going Home!"

my 8 yr old son and I go straight to Rock n Roller Coaster after check in while my wife and 8yr old daughter unpack.....we drive down and talk about it the whole time....that and getting a pretzel at EPCOT..........
