DVC Premium Pass Deal for 2013

Am I allow to sell it to other DVC members? That green plastic card doesn't have any name on it. Or does it have to be use by members of my household?

cheshirefigment (the Dis "go-to" for WDW pass info/questions) answered the same question from another poster recently.

the voucher can be sold/given to anyone. however, a person would need to be show their DVC member card & corresponding photo ID to activate a DVC voucher.
if you cannot activate the "DVC/PAP special" voucher by the end of 2013, you can still use the price you paid for it toward another pass when you do go - the monies are not lost.

Thanks. I kinda figure I can exchange it or use the credit for another kind of pass, but wasn't sure if I can actually sell it. I guess I can list it on ebay and see what happens.

I'm getting good use from my December PAP last year, I did Dec 4 day, Feb week, April week, and going back in November for my last week on the one PAP. Hope to hear about this again in the Nov, Dec time frame and buy again.

The special price ($399) PAP voucher has to be activated by 12/31/2013. A voucher for a PAP (or AP) at regular member pricing never expires.

You had 30 days to use....but 365 days from the day of activation to use all of the days.... what do you think?

Would you pay $399 for that?

A $399 PAP for a Florida Resident DVC member... but for families that live 1,000+ miles away.... a PAP really isn't the BEST ticket fit.

If they are not going to offer the $399 PAP, I think the 30 day Premium Pass ticket would be a GREAT compromise.

If they REALLY want DVC to pay off for Disney Parks - they are really going to have to focus on keeping families returning to the parks, year after year, multiple times a year, for extended vacations.

DVC wins.... sells more points....

Disney wins... sells more.....everything...

Also... would you pay for a Disney rewards program? (Other than Disney Visa Rewards)...

I think Disney needs to think outside the box and innovate more when it comes to keeping DVC interesting and exciting for members - adding new and attractive benefits that keep members invested...especially as Dues increase!

It all depends on how one uses the pass. The reduced PAP works great for us too. A 30 day pass would not and had I been offered one at $399 I would have declined.

Those of us who would have normally bought APs with the intention of using them over the duration of 12 months, basically getting two or more annual visits out of it, find it was a fantastic upgrade to the usual AP and less expensive than the AP.

On occasion, with the AP I'll tend to toss in a long weekend along the way if I can find a good airfare deal and can find a room open. The addition of the waterpark/DQ admission has changed our visit behavior so that I'm now offering to bring along a friend for my 16yo so he'll have a buddy to do the waterparks with. I love BB & TL but find I'm just as happy at the villa pool.

Nope...wouldn't work for us at all.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that they give us the PAP deal again next year. I don't really think they would do this two years in a row. I'm sure they want to see if it brought people back to the parks before they offer it again.

It worked. Universal has been calling. I hung up the phone on them for this and next summer. The year after is still in the air as it will be DS' senior trip. I don't think Disney will be able to keep us on site no matter what offer they extend.

The UK only 21 day unlimited ticket is 280 GBP, or about $435 expires in 21 days. I think if WDW offered DVC members a similar thing, I think that would be an option. But in the UK, they have a minimum of 28 days vacation/annual leave a year.

So while a UK resident has plenty of time, for us in 'the states', 2 weeks is probably the max. Hence the reason why a ticket stops at 10 days and if you want more, WDW encourages you to get an annual pass. Maybe, they'll bump it to 12 eventually, I think right now the break even for a regular AP is 13 days (I didn't check the math on this)

I travel 2700 miles round trip. I would rather have a annual pass discount like last years rather than a 30 day ticket. I would be happy to get the Premum for the reg DVC price this year. I would then plan 2 or 3 trips quick trips.

Those PAPs definitely brought a WHOLE BUNCH of people on return trips. I wonder where the numbers would have to be, profit wise, for this to be a continued incentive to have multiple vacations at Disney a year (for non-Florida residents, and I say that because it's easier to justify more visits when you live close by, incentive enough to have to fly there is a whole different thing)?

Actually, for most workers, the 8 public holidays we have in the UK throughout the year are built into that allowance so full time workers normally have only 20 days paid holiday as a minimum which can be taken at anytime throughout the year. Also, some employers allow only 10 days to be taken together unless there are exceptional circumstances so two weeks is often our max too.

What we tend to do with our DVC AP is use it twice at opposite ends of the 12 months (i.e. November one year and October the next) so that we get around 22 days use from it. The 30 day NE option you suggest would work fine for us, the 10 day not so much.

The problem with the concept 30 days (or even 20 days) valid for a year would be cost. The following prices do not include the 6.5% Sales Tax:

DVC AP: New = $464, Renewal = $394
DVC PAP: New = $584, Renewal = $494

Ten Day: Base = $339, Hopping or WPF&M = $398, Hopping and WPF&M = $423

Ten Day No Expire: Base = $664, Hopping or WPF&M = $723, Hopping and WPF&M = $748

Compare these prices to the AP.
