DVC Points Question

It's like this...we purchased SSR back in February and my parents joined us. They love camping and thought for the most part they would utilize their portion of the points for the basic camp sites @ FW. My wife and I will be coming in January to run the marathon and parents would like to follow but here's the problem. Since our window of opportunity at reserving a non DVC resort we've been unable to do this b/c DVC says..."we don't have the points for 08 from FW in order for you to book against." They have made reservations the "normal" way just so they have a space when we come but I would really like to be able to utilize the points we've paid for all ready. Does anyone have experience as to when these points will be posted so we can make the reservation?

Unfortunately, Disney hasn't figured out how much it's charging DVC for rooms, so nobody can book at the non-DVC WDW resorts. Frustrating for a lot of people. It could come out tomorrow. It could take until the end of August. Nobody knows.

Do keep in mind that campsites are pretty cheap compared to the point-cost. The maintenance fees alone on those points might be cheaper (EDIT - I mean more expensive) than what a cash reservation costs...

Thanks. I just saw the thread about the Disney Collection and all the post on it. It seems a bit odd how the market the product in regards to reservation request but have absolutely no control (or so we think) over them. For what it's worth, I'm calling our sales agent that was so good with us tomorrow to see if I can get anything out of him as to when they'll be posted. Thanks again. We'll keep looking too!
