I checked the DVC website but am unable to locate the point chart for a category 3 room. I remember seeing it somewhere on these boards but can't locate it now. Does anyone know the points for this category?

Thanks

I don't believe Category 3 rooms are available on points if I am remembering correctly. The exception, I believe, was the members' cruise.

I just looked in the Member Guidebook, and the highest category there is 4. I didn't realize this until you questioned it. I'm looking into a cruise myself, but am only looking at a cat 8 or 9 (it costs lots of points to cruise!). I want to do my own land/sea vacation next year, only mine will be a sea/land with very little or no parks.
Good luck in your search.

For some reason Cat. 3 is not listed in print but you can book it on points. I can't find my list but if you head over to the Cruise Forum I guarantee someone over there will know. Or, simply call MS and ask them. They gave me the complete rundown for 2003 and 2004 - I really wish I could find it for you. I'll keep looking and if I find it I will post later. FYI - you can also book 1 and 2 bedroom suites at The Grand Californian, The Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier in CA. on points even though it's nowhere in print that I can find. It always pays to check with MS IMHO.

Hope this helps a little:
Points for a 3 night cruise in Cat. 3 reg. season:
First 2 passengers 285 pts. each
9 year old - 56 pts
3 and 4 year old - 54 pts.

It was listed for the member cruise. Call or email DVC.

It is my understanding that you can't book cat 3 with points. We booked a 6 and I thought that was one of the first you could book.

You absolutely can book a Cat. 3 on points. I have done it myself. In order to do this you will have to call MS to get the point schedule. It is nowhere in print.

Yes, you can book a Catagory 3 with DVC points, but not Catagories 1 or 2. You will need to call Member Service to get the exact point cost for the dates you wish to travel.

The main problem you may encounter though is availability. There are only a few catagory 3 on the ship and during peak season these will book very quickly. I would call as soon as the 11 month window is open. Good Luck.

Se sure to stop by the Cruise Board when you book your cruise. We would love to know when you are cruising. Maybe you can even find other DISer (maybe DVC ones) who will be cruising with you
