DVC perk wish list...

that the wish list for perks would benefit Disney, DVC and the vacation club owners. Anything that can drive revenues, improve guest satisfaction and encourage more family visits to the World will benefit everyone!

I would like to be able to buy the dining plan for a set amount of days during my trip and use the credits starting the day I check in until the day I check out. I know I can segment my reservation and buy it every other day to probably accomlish this, but it would be much cleaner to check in for a week stay and know I have 4 table service, 4 quick service, and 4 snacks at my disposal anytime I want.

They could even exclude the deluxe from this perk as with 3 table service credits a day that would probably be a money losing proposition.

I agree. I just want the ability to buy the TIW card, w/o an AP, like Florida Residents. After all, isn't DVC my home away from home.

I agree with Brian, "they" completely know where we are & what we're doing!

I want to play along though. I think it would be great if:
1. No AP needed for TIW.
2. Better Discount on Premium Passport (for WDW & DL).
3. Extra shampoo please! What a joke, I really just need extra shampoo!
4. A FULL set of towels every time the room is serviced (they only fill it in if you're down a few towels).
5. How about just the great service we thought we were paying for?

An aside: On many threads & in reviews on this & other sites, it seems there are a LOT of complaints about DVC villas, service to members, etc. That's a shame. We just want what we paid for and will be paying for in years to come: MAGIC!

It would be great if all wishes could be met, but we want a well maintained resort & and superior service. We built a great deal of the resorts that other guests are using, I paid for a nice place to vacation. & for shampoo :rotfl:

someone please give her some shampoo.....:confused3

Been thinking about this and would like 20% discount on food and drink everywhere even CS, even if it was on the TIW card , I noticed a post on I think the budget board and few weeks ago about Disney offering a discount on CS if you ate between certain times...not the busy time which we usually do, that would be nice all the time too but it was just like around Easter I think, right after we left... that would be a nice perk instead of the DDP which is too much food for us...:goodvibes

Yep. We also bought OKW points way back when the purchase included park passes to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT Center, and Disney-MGM Studios through the end of 1999. Staying in a 2BR (max. capacity 8) provided up to 4 park passes per night.

The key point, however, is that Disney Vacation Development (DVD) paid the theme parks a negotiated amount for those passes. They were part of DVD's cost structure in those days (just like construction costs and marketing costs). DVD still pays for and provides purchase incentives of one sort or another these days, but they're not as generous as the old Limited Park Pass Program.

What some people on this thread are looking for now is something different. They essentially want the theme parks to sell MYW tickets to DVC members for less (possibly significantly less) than to guests staying in deluxe, moderate, value, and off-site properties.

The question is what would be the business justification for the theme parks to provide special discounts to DVC members? The parks are trying to make as much money as possible, and there's no reason for them to reward DVC members for buying points from DVD in 1993 or 2011 or anytime in-between.

Arn't we the party pooper. You have taken a harmless thread of what people would "LIKE" OR "WISH" and turned it into a business 101 class.

Is it so wrong to dream or hope for things without tying it to practicality. Sometimes its just fun to see what other would wish for too. Try reading the threads and have some fun. This isn't Harvard Business School.

Lighten Up.

Please understand that this is discussion forum. We're having a friendly discussion about potential perks for DVC members. Everyone brings different experiences, opinions, ideas, and points of view to a discussion like this one.

I happen to think that the discussion is more fun if we come up with perks that could actually be proposed to Disney. What perks would Disney Vacation Development want to pay for because the perks would generate new sales? What discounts would restaurants, shops, or parks want to offer because the additional revenue would generate new profits that exceed the reductions in margin? What perks would we DVC members be willing to pay for through increased annual dues?

Okay. I'll lighten up. I want a $1 million Disney gift card every time I check in at a DVC resort. But I don't want it paid for out of DVC member dues.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned offering preferred viewing areas for parades and shows. Perhaps make it "reserved"...call MS and let them know that you want seats for 4 at Fantasmic on xx day...you get a voucher that allows you access to a specific seating area (like the FDP) and you can enter any time, up until showtime. It shouldn't cost DVC that much, it would allow DVC members to spend more time in the park (i.e. shopping and dining) instead of waiting in lines. They could offer special parade and Illuminations areas too. By requiring "reservations", they would know how big of an area to "rope off" for DVC members. They should limit the number, but if the limit isn't reached, they can just make the reserved area smaller.

But my favorite idea, by far, is allowing DVC members to purchase the TIW card without an AP. If they did this, I would imagine that it would be the $100 price, not the $75 AP rate, which would make it more difficult for me to justify.

I would like the free valet back. I used that service ALL the time, and it really WAS a nice perk.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'd be ok, if they only did it for Boardwalk Villas. Of course, the cost would need spread out in every resorts maintenance fees, and not just BWV owners. ;)

Since we are wishing;
1. How about a $100 discount on ANY ticket media.
2. The ability to get the TIW without purchasing an AP.
3. Preferred ADR timeframe (maybe an extra 10 day window)
4. And preferred seating for parades/fireworks (I saw someone mention that and figured I'd throw it in)

fun but informative also:thumbsup2.

When the DP 1st was rolled out we enjoyed it early in ' 05 when booked CRO (it included the appetizer & tip then). I lobbied here & sent series of emails to member services every few months or so. I did receive an email indicating that one of the reasons it was finally added was due to overwhelming member response and was told that Disney does monitor message boards.

It was my understanding that the DP is offered as an accommodation i.e. no cost to DVC.:confused3I have no idea whether the current $100 perc for APs is set up the same or not. Frankly, i don't want to pay for any perc out of my dues as then it's not a true perc and i certinaly don't want to subsize any ala carte options that I won't personally be utilizing whether it's for the AP or DP options.

:thumbsup2 Ooh, I like this one! And the special fast passes per visit. I think these are perks that wouldn't impact anyone's bottom line but would make people quite happy (without making others unhappy hopefully)

Here's something I wish. How about letting us know 11 months out when all of the special events are happening so we can plan our trips accordingly? I hate making reservations for special events (F&G, SWW, F&W, MNSSHP, MVMCP) based on when they were the previous year and hope that the dates coincide with the special event I really want to go to! Heck, make this a perk for all DVC members!

Yes, I know that this will never happen, but hey, a girl can dream.

I like this idea. Not having to claim a spot a hour or two before a parade would mean my family might actually watch and enjoy a parade once in awhile.

I've heard there is perferred viewing area in Magic Kingdom for AAA members.
If there is such an area, does anyone know if AAA pays Disney for this?

This is my problem too! I don't need to commando tour the parks anymore and I like to enjoy TS dinners on vacation. The shows and parades that start at 7-9pm make it difficult to eat a TS meal at a resort because we need to get a seat or get in line so early. We generally only stay for 5 nights so we are limited to what shows we can see since they are each showing only once or twice during each trip.

For our next trip, Fantasmic is showing at 8pm on the day we arrive. Our flight lands at 3:30pm....DME to BLT and hopefully checked in by 5:30pm...then straight to DHS to get in line for Fantasmic. So, instead of eating dinner from, say 6-7pm, we'll be spending that time standing outside of the theatre, munching on snacks.

Tables in Wonderland card without AP

Higher levels of discounts/perks based on points owned

I'd love to see the ability to get multiple simultaneous FastPasses as a DVC perk. Instead on only being allowed to have one FastPass at a time, you could have three.

If we're talking true "wish list" things, I'll take it a step farther and say I'd love to be able to get FastPasses without having to actually walk to the rides twice. (Once to get the FastPass, and a second to use it.) I think it'd be great if DVC resorts had a kiosk in the lobby where you swipe your room key, swipe your park ticket (if not on the key), choose a park, then pick 3 rides to get FastPasses for.

What if DVC engaged an airline with national reach (such as Southwest, United, Frontier, etc) and offered the title of "Official airline of the Disney Vacation Club" for a significant discount for members on their current economy priced tickets (maybe 35-40% to a Disney location and 15% off other destinations).

The advertising would be a boon for the airline's marketing team (cause it says "Disney"), WDW would get more frequent visits by members (which equals more park, restaurant, and shopping time), and we get cheaper airline tickets! :cool1:  :thumbsup2 It may also entice DVC members to frequent fly that airline, too.

This might cause some serious addonitis! I know that the cost to GET to WDW is why we only have enough points to go once a year. With "cheap" airfare, more frequent trips would definitely hold more appeal.

I could so go for this as well. This should be something that is easy to program into their system.

Have thought about booking dining every second day, but concerned with all the problems I've heard with doing this. Doing this would be a lot easier for us.
