when i talked to my guide, he said dcl loved the dvc members cruise only, and they really want to do more of them, my question is: this past dvc cruise how much in advance did dvc contact the members to offer the cruise line, im very interested but i dont want to book anything if dcl is going to have another dvc members only cruise, and to have the chance to share it with my fellow members.:) :) :) :)

Around the first of August 2002(maybe the end of July) they sent out cards about it. On August 24 (Oh, how I remember that day!)they had a special day for members to call in and make their reservations. The cruise was Feb 2-6. They gave us about 6 months notice.

The Member's Cruise was wonderful and we have already made tentative plans to be on the next one - just waiting for them to announce when it will be!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your question was already answered- but they hope to give more advance warning for the next one.

If you want to know more about the cruise, just click the link in my signature. :)

Speaking of link Mark, when are we going to get to read more about the DVC SS Members Cruise. You teased us with the first two pages, you little rascal!!! LOL!!!

thank you, gosh, i cant wait, i know it was a 4 day cruise, was it the same amount of points that are in the guide book , or did dvc give you a special quote on the points, just want to make sure ill have enough for the cruise and a stay at my home resort.:)
and when your on the cruise and you book the next cruise, does dvc take points out of your account right away?:smooth:

I didn't find out about the DVC SS Members Cruise until I started searching these boards in January, but I heard it was MORE points than is listed for a regular 4 day cruise for that time period. If Mark comes back to this thread, he can give you a great deal more info about the cruise.

We had a category 5 and it was 14 points more for the two of us. The "extras" on the cruise more than made up for the 14 points.

While we were on the ship we could book another cruise, but I believe if we were booking on points we had to call MS within 3 days of leaving the ship to book it. Not sure if it is always this way.

I had a cat 11 room - it did cost extra than normal but as #1mouse pointed out the extras and the DVC only made it worth while for my husband Todd and I for a first cruise.

wdwstar We can only sit hope and wait impatiently.:) We were surprised by all those "free" goodies. Remember when the cruise was 1st announced? Some people were complaining about the extra points. We used cash instead, but imho the cruise was definitely worth the premium. Thanks for the link Mark. Great start but leaving us hanging?;LOL.
Verandah Man. Why must you continously tease Rock Shrimp lovers?;)LOL

Someone has to do it, might as well be me!!! LOL!!! Once I get on my cruise in August and get a picture of me on the verandah, then I will have a picture to change this one with. Did you check out the Dixie Crossroads website??? I'm half tempted to get on a flight to Florida just to eat some "ROCK SHRIMP" myself. LOL again!!! Rae519 is on me about this photo as well!!!

But I bet the picture you have taken will be one on the balcony. Dixie's rockshrimp in one hand and a Bahama Mama in the other. LOL

Sounds like a plan to me!!! Although, after the cruise, we are getting a rental car, near the port, and driving up to Dixie Crossroads for an early lunch, then we can head to the airport, our flight doesn't leave MCO until 6:15pm. I've got it all planned out!!!
