DVC Member Packet Upon Arrival

I have a quick question. I have been reading about DVC members receiving a packet with information upon check in. We are staying on a friend's points at VGC next month. Initially I wouldn't have expected this packet to be given to us since when the reservations were made our friend was the member, not us. However we have joined DVC since then. If I show the CM my member card upon check in will I be able to receive the packet? I know there are places to receive discounts so I think that would be in the packet, but other than that is there anything that I would "need"? Thanks.

IMHO
There is really nothing in the packet that is any big deal. As far as the little portable perk booklet it doesn't contain anyting you can't find on the member website. I wish they would stop giving them out to save some money, they probably all end up in the garbage anyway. It isn't going to enhance your trip in any way.

Thanks. I have looked on the web site to see where I can get discounts so I am all set as far as that goes. Just didn't know if there was anything else that I would want the packet for. I guess there is no need to ask for it. I appreciate your advice.

You don't have to ask for it they will give it to you, I'm sure everyone who checks in gets one.

It's pretty much the same as a non-member gets when they check-in to any WDW or DL resort. The Portable Perks is additional and any notice of a DVC event.

A few weeks ago at VGC the packet also had lanyards and a couple of postcards. I haven't always been given that there but maybe you'll get lucky.
