Can the DVC Maintenance Fee be paid By Credit Card?

I have my first fee's due this January and I know it can be paid in one lump sum or monthly, correct? Can it be paid monthly with a credit card?

Thanks
Josh

Credit card payments can not be made monthly. However, you can bill the entire balance out to a credit card annually.

to expand on Chuck's post -

The only way to pay dues monthly is to allow DVC to take the amount from your account electronically. You must have a domestic (United States) bank account.

Best wishes-

Use Disney Visa more rewards later. :Pinkbounc

YUP!! exactly! i use my Disney VISA to pay my annual DVC dues. kinda funny to be paying Disney your money and then getting some of it back form Disney as reward points later. great system. :cool1:

I suspect the 12-months of interest free financing for those who opt for monthly payments is worth more than the 1% in "rewards" earned for a Disney Visa payment.

It's probably not interest free financing since dues are only due on a monthly basis to begin with. I'd phrase it as those who pay everything in January are Pre-paying their dues ahead of time to get the 1%. Same difference, just different way to phrase it.

Of course, even then this assumes if you charge your annual dues, you are paying the entire CC bill when it comes in. If anyone carries a CC balance, then they are actually losing money.

Disney comes out ahead also since they actually get the money pre-paid and I guess can 'technically' draw interest on it. Thus even after paying the CC charges of probably 2-3%, they're still ahead. That's probably why they allow the use of CC's for a single annual dues payment, but not for monthly dues payments.

Just wanted to note to the XFactor (looks like he's pretty new here) that if you have a Disney Visa Rewards Card - you can also use those rewards points to pay your maintenance fees!!! Even if it's not the full amount. We paid about half of our fees last year with rewards, and the rest on the Disney Visa. We have more Rewards $$ this year, it'll be half again - but this time it'll be half of 2 contracts. As long as the balance gets paid every month on the card - it works out great come Maint Fee time!

Wow Kristy. You guys must use your credit cards a lot! That or you have 100 or fewere points! Paying down the Maint. Fee with the 1% you've earned on your Disney Visa is a great idea. If I had to guess I'd say I average about $2,000 on my credit card monthly (that's worst can scenario). That's only $240 a year in Visa Disney Dollars. That wouldn't even cover 25% of my fee's! Your credit card bill must be $5,000+ a month. WoW!

That's a great idea...I'll have to keep it in mind...every little bit counts!

We moved cross country 3 times in the last 12 months (Air Force) we charged everything on the card for the moves (including the moving trucks, etc)! Really added up! Normally we won't have such a landfall of reward dollars!
