I'm not sure this is the right place to post this question, but do you have to be a member of the DVC in order to subscribe to the DVC magazine? Is it like a "perk" for being a member? Since the Disney Magazine ceased to exist, I've really missed a monthly dose of Disney in the mail.
"Vacation Magic" isn't a monthly magazine, it's about a 20-25 page update for members that they send out 4 times a year. I don't think it's available to non-members, and it's not that interesting anyway. It takes about 5 minutes to flip through.
For instance, in the last one I received, there's an article on the 15 year anniversary of DVC, a few pages describing current member perks, some operational stuff that would only be of interest to members, like where to throw out your trash at the DVC resorts. Also an article on 'Extreme Makeover', some family pictures, and a recipe.
I really enjoy the magazine, it has fun tidbits, etc. There was a cool story in this issue about the secret club at DL which I had heard about and wondered about. DH isn't a DVC Lover but he loves the magazine.

I think I sounded a little harsh. The magazine certainly isn't terrible, it does have some interesting stuff in it. It doesn't hold a candle to the old Disney magazine, though, and isn't really intended to, and that's what I was trying to get across. A good amound of the stuff in there probably isn't of much interest to the non-member.
You're exactly right, and that's why I usually quickly flip through a new "Vacation Magic" and toss it. I know I'll get all the info that's in there, and more, right here on the DIS.
