DVC discount and Dis Stores

Disney Club (DC) is over at the end of the year, not DVC, at least I don't think so.

It might be over if Disney sells the stores. And I believe that is under consideration.

Most of our benefits are renewable every year. I noticed on the member site that the description of the Disney Store discount starts out "Currently". It goes on to say it is not good on-line or for the catalog (never has been).

The cast members at the Dis store told me yesterday. That extra discount covered the tax at least.

For 11 years I've constantly come across some less than knowledgeable CM's at TDS who were clueless about how the DVC discount works.

I'll wait to see if DVC makes an announcement.

Unless the merchandise at the Disney Store is drastically improved soon (some CMs seem to think it will be), I can't say I'll be too upset at the loss of this perk. Over the last three years, I don't think I've bought anything in the DS.

I guess more adult wear is supposed to become available (again, according to our local Dis store cast members). Yesterday, I picked up some childrens' clothes that were 50% off, and then the extra 10% from our membership. Cute fall/winter coat for a boy and some nice fleece hoodies for both boys and girls, as well as an adult (albeit lightweight) sweat shirt. Tough to beat. I'll still happily take that extra 10%.

The Disney store merchandise has been so awful the last couple years, I really don't ever buy anything there anymore anyway. We were also told (not at TDS, but at OKW) that ALL discounts were going away including DVC, because of the Disney Visa. That is why they are encourageing the DVC Disney Visa card.

All DVC discounts or just the ones at the Pooh store?
