DVC clip art?

I am tired of having no real signature, and I want to fix it. I am wondering where you guys get the DVC clip art that some of you have in your signatures?? My home resort is BWV, so I would most be interested in BWV or just general DVC logos.

Point to an image you like and click the right mouse button. Go to properties and click again. That will display the address (URL) of the image on the 'net. Use that link to add the image to your signature line.

But where do I find some DVC images? I have seen some in other peoples signatures, but I don't know where to find my own. I don't want to steal anyone elses images.

Well, I'm not aware of any great depository of DVC clipart. Most people probably link to images from the DVC web site, or other items that are scattered here or there.

If you look at the properties of another image as I suggested, you will see the location of the original image. Most of these images are linked from exterior sites, so you're not "stealing" the images any more than other folks who are displaying them in sigs.

Use the (existing link) link to add the image to your signature line.

Please don't do that, it's essentially stealing someone else's bandwidth. Just because others do it doesn't make it appropriate.

The correct procedure is to right click the image, save it to your hard drive and then upload it to your ISPs webspace. Then use YOUR OWN link to add the image to your sig line.

One thing to be aware of is that many sites have to pay for bandwidth (the amount of data that is pulled from their site). When you link to and use pictures (especially over and over again in something like a signature) its referred to as 'stealing bandwidth'. Consider this, when you suddenly have 100's of people reading messages on a forum that each download images from someone else's site, it REALLY adds up. Owning my own website I've found this to be a problem on several occasions, and had to contact the users to please stop.

I've also had users take images I created without asking. This happens all the time.

It is considered good form to copy any images you'd like to use as an avatar or in your signature to your OWN webspace, and then link them from there. And it never hurts to ask someone before you take their images either!

Thanks everyone. I had no intentions of stealing anyones clip art from their signature, that didn't seem right to me. I did find a DVC Clip art at one of the websites someone gave me, so I will probably use that one.

Just seeing if this worked. I'm not having great luck in getting the graphics to show up.

If you right click on the BWV on my signature and then click "properties" the address will come up. Copy it by highlighting the address and then right clicking again and press copy.

Then go to the profile page ( how do I update my profile ) in FAQ and then go to the signature box. I have copied the address here for you ...so you can hopefully cut and paste it onto your signature BUT...I have deliberately left of the ] at the end of the box otherwise the image will go !!!!

.............remember to place the ] to close the box and note the slash mark in the second box.

That should then allow you to display the image!

400x400 pixels is the total limit for graphics, 8 lines of text is the limit and 2 countdown timers is the limit. Some in this thread are already over those limits. Please review and alter your signatures accordingly.
