What an experience ... we're not pin people, so I had no idea about the DVC limited edition pin "drill"...it was rather amazing!
You-all probably know "the drill" for getting limited edition DVC pins, but I didn't and I was just amazed...first, I went to the pin trading cart at the American Adventure...didn't see anything that looked like the pic of the pin that was posted, so asked the CM working the cart...she hadn't heard anything about such a pin and said they had no such thing (altho give her points, she did spend quite a few minutes w/me looking)...I either didn't know or forgot it was a DVC pin, so didn't mention that part...she recommended I check at the big pin spot at the front of Epcot, so I did that...again, no luck finding the pins...so I figured they were late in getting them out or something like that and thought, "well, I tried"...just as I was turning away, a CM asked if she could help me...I described a pin "supposedly limited edition, released today, w/Minnie & Mickey dressed as carolers"...she said...."those are only for DVC members." LIGHT BULB goes off! "I'm DVC," said I...had to prove it...my DVC card, my driver's license, too...but I had both w/me, so no problem, and she opened a drawer, took out a key, unlocked a metal box, and gave me the pins! Such security...it was worth the errand just to have the experience!
Anyway...tomandrobin are now all set (unless they want more--grin); they've PM'ed me how to get the package to them, so all is well...it was really fun to do...I felt a little bit like Santa Claus!
Happy Holidays everyone...
