DVC Chit Chat Thread

I've made a decision on park tickets for my 2026 fall and winter into 2027 trips.

I would purchase the Sorceror pass (if still available on points) for my February stay (12 nights) using my leftover 2026 points plus a few one time use points. This would give me 3-4 trips on the pass - for 22-25 park days over its year. I would be doing a lot of meandering around using the flexibility of staying a few hours a day. This would also make the pass renewal at a time when I possibly would have a trip in progress or within days for the following 2028 pass year. (I'm predominately at BWV, BCV and Swan, Swan Reserve so Epcot, DHS primarily.

Meanwhile I'll dip into my old stash of no expiry for October and December 2026.

Just musing to myself here.

maybe pay the pass with cash? book a short trip with the extra points?

This is the best part of an AP. Come and go and not worry about getting the most out of that date based ticket!

Curious to know whether any of you Americans who do longer stays buy your tickets from the uk. We get some pretty great ticket options compared to what I see Americans normally have.

I don't think Americans can buy the UK tickets.

Not for me as I would already have 3 trips in progress, almost always. In addition one of the trips combines time at Hilton Head over Thanksgiving with a short December visit - ie Christmas decor and Candlelight Processional and whatever else is on tap. Also, if I needed to I have enough points to borrow for a trip. I'm a 2042 owner and winding down to 2042 will include borrowing ahead.

I also have a season for travel - below 80 degrees!

I have a trip coming up and plan to have a couple of days where we go into the parks for just 2-3 hours. I NEVER would have considered doing that before getting an annual pass. When I spend the high cost for date based tickets, I tend to want to max every hour there. I think having the AP will let me enjoy the parks and resorts more!
