DVC Card

It's been 6 years since I've visited a DVC resort so when I booked my current reservation I checked out every detail. But I misunderstood one thing. I thought the new bands with the DVC Member "bling" (as I've learned it's called) would not require that I also have my DVC member card to appreciate perks. But not so. If you are a DVC member you must have the ID card with you at all times, as well as your photo ID, to get discounts.

Since I travelled without my card I did learn there are 2 places to have a card printed in a matter of moments, Saratoga Springs and Bay Lake Towers. I chose BLT and it took less than 5 minutes to tell the DVC host what I needed, get the info into the system and have my card delivered to me. No problem.

Really nice people and friendly, courteous service. Everyone at DVC really made it a hassle-free situation. My mistake and they resolved it. Thanks to all!

Even though they have DVC and AP sliders, you have to have the cards to get discounts. Otherwise, people would "lend" their sliders to others to get discounts.

Thanks, Debbie. I totally misunderstood that but thankfully they were very nice about it and had an option for me. I have a card now.

My MDE Profile says I'm a DVC Member even though I'm Associate Member. As an Associate Member, I'm NOT entitled to member discounts. This is another reason that the Member ID Card & Photo ID need to be shown for proof of discount and not automatically applied.

Is this new? We've stayed twice using DVC points since the implementation of magic bands (october 2013 and may 2014) and didn't receive DVC sliders either time.

They are little in could easily be overlooked in the packaging. I got them with one vacation, and didn't expect to get it ever again (One per customer thinking) Next vacation there was one in the box I almost threw away. It was kind of down and under or something.

Thank you for the info. I knew you had to carry your card and ID. I did not know you could get another card so conveniently and easily.

They started issuing them in May 2014.

that explains it - the magic bands were delivered in April for an early May trip. But good to know for fall 2015!

Hi, we banked most of the points but rented them online too. Let me know if you are interested because I have some that have to go and I probably won't be able to use them all. Now that I'm here, I want to come back again every year but I did like them up

Hi, all the stores sell "bling" such as character items that fit on the wrist bans. I even saw a cover for the bads so you can change colors. I overheard a mom say her daughter is wearing hers to school next week with the new characters applied.
