DVC at the Poly, what does the future hold......

Just want to add to this conversation:

I follow Steve (Tikiman) on his site as well as on Facebook. I can't remember specifically what he said either, but I definitely remember reading comments of his where he strongly implied (or came out and said directly, I don't remember) that there WILL be more DVC for the Polynesian in the future. I don't think he said whether it would be new construction or converting existing rooms into DVC. And he does say that he comments on the information that he has at the time, and that the information, or plans, can change at any time.

He made the comments about more DVC at the Polynesian in a "conversation" on one of his FB posts, I believe. It'd be impossible to try and go back and find a direct link to it. I just wanted to back up the OP, who I don't know, that I also read the same thing they did.

By the way, we will never buy DVC because it's just not practical for us, but we'll always stay at the Polynesian, whether in a "room" or a DVC "unit".

Edited to add: They're closing (or have already closed) the race car driving thing which is near the Polynesian, No idea what they're going to do with that land, but I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow moved things around, around the TTC, if they ever wanted to build new Polynesian units. Just me wondering, this isn't even a rumor! LOL

I guess I've watched the tv specials where they show how they built WDW out of literally nothing, so nothing is impossible when it comes to Disney creating what they want. :) LOL

This is what Tikiman said, on Feb 13, while contemplating buying DVC:

"...While my family of 4 might get too big for the room at some point when the kids get bigger I have an idea that this will not be an issue in the future. I have no delusions that the bungalow will ever be an option other than maybe throwing a bunch of points at a few nights just to experience it...With the things that are to come for the Polynesian DVC I want to get in now before the price is even higher or it sells out."
