DVC Annual Ticket Price Increase

Can I call DVC tomorrow and purchase my discounted AP (as a voucher), and hold on to it for as long as I want, and my 1 year commencement date on the pass won't start until I "Cash" it in when I visit one of the parks.
The AP vouchers do not expire. The clock starts when you exchange the voucher for an AP so don't do the exchange until you are planning to enter a park.

Thanks Lisa:worship:... talk about short notice... 2 days notice for a price increase

Just found the other thread with some of the answers in the planning section... maybe one of the mods can merge the 2?

West Coast newbie here, trying to save a few bucks.

Can't go until December:sad2:

You can also order online via the DVC website and get the DVC price. It's under member perks, wdw, wdw ap and follow the links to the "ticket store". They have it very well hidden, but you will be able to print out a certificate and you can also save the certificate to your documents as a backup. I do it this way every year and it works great.

Just did this to get new AP's for me and DD for the August trip. Was also planning to wait about a month to buy them, but went ahead and got them now.

I did the Will Call option since it will be easy to stop at the guest relations window on the way in to Epcot since we are staying at BWV.

I also ordered everyone else's tickets from Undercovertourist since those are still at old prices. Unfortunately, I deleted my mousesavers newsletter and the next one isn't coming until after the increase.

I guess its a good thing I am on the boards so much!!!!!! Now, off to try to convince DH to let me buy a resale contract that just showed up that could work for us!!!

So regarding the DVC AP vouchers not expiring, does that mean I could buy 10 AP vouchers at today's $399 price and turn them in over the next 20 years if I utilized one of the every other year AP strategies?

Thanks

I was told I could pickup my annual passes at BCV. Is that new? In the past we had to go to the main gate at the park.

I just called and bought mine. As I am going just a few days after the increase they can't get paper to me in time but they gave me a number. It makes me uncomfortable not having something in hand after a bad experience with not getting to go to the christmas party because they couldn't find our tickets at will call. Crossing my fingers theres no problem.

I just ordered our APs online via the DVC members website. It went very smoothly. I printed out the confirmation (I elected to do will call rather than pay to have a voucher mailed to me) and also received an email with the confirmation numbers. I don't foresee any trouble getting our passes when we arrive later this year. Sorry you had trouble with MVMCP tickets. I think it must have been a fluke as we have not had trouble with those tickets in the past and have always gotten will call numbers when we purchased DVC discounted versions.

Yes, it's new since the recent system upgrade. The resorts can now sell NEW APs. Anything else (upgrades, maybe renewals) needs to go to a Guest Relations booth. Since you will have either a will call number or a voucher, you shouldn't have a problem doing it at a resort's concierge desk.

I'm still going to go to GR to get our new APs, even though we have will call numbers. I do not want ours on a plastic card, since there have been multiple reports of the plastic cards getting demagnetized. I prefer the special plastic paper, which have never given us any trouble whatsoever. I know we can always get a demagnetized card "fixed", but I have a low threshold for standing in lines for that type of thing, LOL.

Yes, but that is a LOT of $$ to tie up in tickets. And a long time to keep track of vouchers or will call numbers.

I bought my AP's Fri. as soon as I saw they were going up! I was going to wait until the end of July to buy them before to Aug. price increase since I'm not going until Dec. Unless I can convince DH to let me go for a day or two before our Aug. Dream cruise. Glad I saw the threads about the increase. The lady at member services gave me the will call number and told me she would note it in my acct. I too like having something as proof, but at least I have my will call number. Does anyone know if you can get into the passholder site before the pass is activated?

I called yesterday and purchased my renewal AP and was given a will call number and the CM said she would be emailing me a confirmation that I should receive in an hour (yesterday). I've not gotten anything, but I do have my number.

Believe you can if you get the voucher/exchange certificate mailed to you. The will call numbers do not work, though.

That's what I get for being off the DIS BOARDS a few days!!!:scared:

But can someone advise how much the DVC AP (regular-not premium) just went up in price ???

thanks!

In 2005, I bought 3 - 10 day, non-expiry, hoppers for future use. I think at the time it was ticketmania or something, sponsored through mousesavers.

Dh and I have started to use two of them. We will finish them this October but will still have the 5 day plusses on them. I still have 1 - 10 day left. (long story but we have gone plenty of times and have used left overs from previous trips, or I bought a few days at the resort when I traveled without dh). I wanted us to have the same number of days left.

I wish I had bought more. They were way under $400.

The CM I taked to told me I wouldn't get an email or anything!! But it would be in my record!!! I did get the will call number.

Thanks, I'll have to call and ask about that, since I would prefer to have something in my hands as proof of my purchase.

Purchased my AP online on Saturday on will call basis. So grateful for the heads up and good news that I will be able to activate on check in at BCV in September. Will I also be able to purchase my TIW at the same time or will I have to toddle off to guest relations to do this?

I'm so glad we heard about the increase this weekend. We purchased our vouchers Saturday to avoid the increase. The total price for DVC/AP was $424.94, and I added the $5 shipping, because I want to have them here when we leave in December. I always keep them in our ticket folder, and I would forget we had them if the vouchers weren't in there!;)
