Hi
We are just back from our very first DVC vacation 10 glorious days at OKW .
While in vacation we bought our very first annual pass ( with discount from DVC ) as we are going back in september :)
It didnt occur to me then but now I am askeing myself when I go back in sept I'll want to use DDP but will I have to buy a 1 day tickets to get DDP for our week stay ?????
Thank you

No, if you are a DVC member staying on points you can add the DDP to your reservation.

Exactly. ^^

However, if you are saying you want to go and use the free dining promotion by booking through CRO, then yes, you'll have to buy a 1 day base ticket.

If you are booking through DVC and paying for the dining plan, then you might want to consider your dining habits and see if buying Tables in Wonderland is a better deal for you in the long run. For $60 you get a card that provides 20% off all table service (including alcohol) at most Disney restaurants, plus a discount at a few counter service restaurants. It's good for 13 months so you can use it for more than one trip provided you're traveling again in the next year or so.

Hi again
So I can add it but do I have to buy a one day ticket ??
For us DDp is a must don't want to cook on vacation ( only if I have to :) )
thanks

Nope! Like minnieluvzmickey stated, if you are staying on points you can purchase the DDP WITHOUT buying a 1 day ticket.

And as Tara stated if you bought a Tables In Wonderland card (only available to AP holders & FL residents) you can save 20% off food & alcohol at most TS restaurants. If you prefer to prepay with the DDP that's fine, but a lot of people have shown that they save a lot more by purchasing the TIW card instead of the DDP. Might be worth comparing what you normally purchase minus 20% compared to the cost of the DDP. We have the TIW card & never cook! ;)

Depends on the reservation you book. If you book a DVC reservation through Member Services you never have to buy tickets to add a DDP to that reservation.

If you're going to book a package at a non-DVC resort, if you have an annual pass you can book a room/dining package with no ticket purchase.

With a regular package reservation at a Disney resort, you must book at least a one-day base ticket. The dining plan can be added only to a room/tickets package reservation for those who are not AP holders or DVC members.

And if you have an AP and plan to eat mostly table service it might be worth it to look into joining Tables in Wonderland rather than using the dining plan.

We compared Tables in Wonderland to DDP and for our scheduled meals, Tables in Wonderland saved us more money.
