What happens at the DVC Annual Meeting?

Is anyone attending this year?

Talk talk talk... Very little info that members find interesting.... smoke and mirrors

They approve the annual budgets for the resorts. Go over some other things like refurb scheduled and other logistics.

Not much else.

At the meeting just before CCV went on sale, they showed concept art and gave details of the villas and cabins there, and I really enjoyed that meeting. Since then, the annual meetings have been pretty boring, just approving budgets and then a scripted “Q&A” session. If we happen to be at WDW when they hold one, we might go, but I wouldn’t book a trip just to attend.

They've grown more bland year after year. Last year's meeting was particularly poor due to covid. They usually host a reception after with refreshments, character photos and opportunity to meet with DVC and resort execs. That didn't happen in 2020. It was about an hour of scripted, socially-distanced content. I'm skeptical about whether any of the interaction will return this year.

I guess it's worth attending if you're at WDW and want a brief break from the parks.

We attended a couple of years ago. 2016 I think. We enjoyed talking to the different resort GMs of our favorite resorts to let them know what we liked and what we thought could improve. We had some really interesting conversations. Hopefully they bring the reception afterwards back!

A few years ago a member of the audience live streamed it unofficially on Facebook. I think that was one of the more interesting ones. They should live stream them all- no excuse really. I suspect they find the obligation to have one a bit of an unwanted inconvenience. Would love to see unscripted questions.

I enjoyed the first meeting I ever attended Wonderful surprise as the meeting ended with Disney Bus Service provided for everybody to tour the new Riviera Resort that was not open yet…
I think it is important to attend just to keep the meetings Open .
Disney has this way of deciding to discontinue if no body shows interest… please attend if you happen to be visiting and have the time available. I guess I thought it was a legal notice required to keep the yearly meetings open for attendance... ?

I think DVC will make the announcement soon to sign up to attend.

I would watch a recorded live stream as new owners just to be informed...

I just found this pictures taken at the condo meetings. The first was from 2010, other in 2015. So, after the business part, there were refreshments, characters and a chance to talk to DVC representatives. I remember Joy, a Member satisfaction person especially.

We originally had plans to attend, but we cancelled all our fall/winter reservations and only booked four nights in March. Those will probably be our last nights with DVC.
