DVA to pay for DDP?

Hello....I asked this question on another thread, but didn't get an answer. So, I'll try again. We are renting points from a friend for a trip in the future. We already have a DVA, because we were planning to buy a package. So, since we now decided to purchase points from a friend, are we able to use the DVA to pay for the meal plan? Thanks.

Your friend will have to be the one to call MS and book the DDP for you. You will have to buy your tickets separately.
Since you want to use a DVA, I would conference your friend and you and then call MS so that once your friend is confirmed they can take your information for the DVA.

Based on other reports, tell MS that you want to use part of a gift card - the CMs are not all that familiar with the DVA and may tell you it cannot be used. But since the DVA numbers are like those on a gift card, it works when the CM inputs the DVA number as though it were a gift card.

Yep. I will reiterate what Carol has said. I've done it before. Just put all the money in to the DVA and when calling to pay for the meal plan, just tell them you want to pay with a gift card. Give them the DVA account number as if it were a gift card and it goes right through without any problem.

I was concerned, because I am renting points. The owner will have to make the dining plan arrangements for us....I guess using our DVA number would be what they would have to do. Thanks.

We used our DVA account. Like mentioned before the owner of points will need to purchase dining plan for you. You will need to give them the full DVA account number. Also as mentioned tell them to tell cast member that it is a Disney gift card. Less confusion as it seems most cast members have no idea what a DVA account is (or they act as if they do not).
